Ha. The idea of this album selling even half of Adele's is funny.

Sugababes Ruler Supreme Kween Keisha has made a cameo in D'Banj's video Oliver Twist:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd5-dws2Z6Q She looks fab - I hope she keeps the hair for the 1.0 reunion. I just wasted 15 minutes making an avatar: This post has been edited by tommie: 19th March 2012, 01:56 PM |

I'm trying to imagine it but just can't. I'm soooo curious to hear what the new sound will be like. I'm sure I'll love it but really can't imagine it. I just know it must be unique (like the first album).

I wonder if they'll do any songs from the 2.0 era during performances? it'd be kinda interesting to hear what Siobhan would sound like on songs like TLIY, PTB, HITH etc.

I have decided I wish for them to use the Sugababes name. Ignore all my previous views on the subject.

But will they be allowed to (if they decided to got for it)? Didn't v 4.0 won when Mutya tried to get the rights for it?
I assume Crown owns the name now? |

It's Island who owns the name, and apparently Crown/4.0 are just licensing it. Or whatever. But the owners are Island.

With 4.0 effectively split up I can see Island jumping at the chance to get 1.0 on board including handing them back the name.
Island would benefit hugely from this reunion as it's certain to spark interest in One Touch and the rest of the bands back catalogue. (More so the now Island owned rights to One Touch) |

When Island signed 2.0 they bought the rights to One Touch and the stuff they did with London. Iirc that is.

I'm not sure, I assumed that they were licensing 'Overload' and 'Run for Cover' but didn't own the rights? I'm sure Island had some issues regarding that.
If Warner are holding the rights for the first Sugababes album they might be lucky cows in the future... |

Then what did v 4.0 win then? Just the right to use it as a band? But they don't own it?
Who decides when they stop having that right? They didn't officially split up (they just don't have a record deal right now and are deluded enough to hope someone will sign them again). |

From the Mirror:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/sarah-harding-...-stomach-771765 QUOTE Bidding war over reformed original Sugababes album The rebirth of the original Sugababes continues to gather pace. Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy are currently in final negotiations over a new record deal after a bidding war broke out between a handful of UK record labels. They’ve hired PR heavyweights Outside Edge – run by Britney Spears’ guru Shoshanna Stone – to promote them. And my sources also tell me that plans for Keisha to release solo material ahead of the girls bursting back on the scene have been put on hold. “Keisha’s put everything on the back burner with regards to her solo record. The girls have got together and they’ve produced the best music they’ve ever done,” my music industry mole reveals. “To say everyone is excited about this comeback is an understatement. They’re going to take over the girl band scene with the new record.” But they have one big decision to make yet – what to call themselves, as their manager holds the rights to the original moniker. The source adds: “They still don’t have a name. It can’t be Sugababes so they’ve got their thinking caps on.” |

A bidding war?
I'm surprised that they haven't signed with a label yet though, but I guess they're REALLY gunning for a good contract. |

The whole 'Sugababes' thing is such a strange situation. You can argue equally points for them to keep the name and points for them not to keep the name.
I personally do not see them as 'Sugababes' any more, but it would be so bizarre for them not to release under that name. |
