CAN THESE STUPID PEOPLE NOT SEE THE CAMERAS WHEN THEY ARE AT HOME LOOKING FOR THEIR CLOTHES OR IN THE FRIDGE!?! The producers tell them not to look at the camera as if someone is spying on them whilst they talk. They're more than aware of the cameras. It's all very Channel 5 Big Brother!!! |

Britt Love off Mini Viva was on Xtra Factor She got through but she was just average vocally I have to say, she follows me on Twitter though and I loved Mini Viva so I hope she improves or something
Jade Richards' return was on as well, she did Love Is A Losing Game by Amy Winehouse but was nowhere near as good as last year. Melanie was the best of the night for me, I couldn't stand the one with his son (Joesph?), it was like 'just shut up about your bloody son and sing fgs', they're seriously running out of sob stories |

It's just a shame that some decent sounding singers who get through get less airtime. That woman who kept chatting and giggling who sang 'Tell It To My Heart' will be this years joke act in the live finals. I feel sorry for her already. As Louis is not mentoring the overs and a certain other judge is so serious about the music then there shouldn't be any joke acts in the overs category. I'm certain the joke acts this time will come from the groups BTW - I've only put the spoilers in as there's bound to be someone here who doesn't read the papers and apart from the X-Factor and soaps doesn't watch anything else on TV and they may become upset if this vital information were leaked to them. I didn't watch last week's and saw only 3/4 of last night's show as I was visiting mum (she was upset that Red or Black was interrupted by this crap by the way) but as for sob stories ... I'd love someone to say in the between singing bits (you know - the other 42 minutes that make up the show) ... 'Dermot - my tragedy is I don't have a sob story'. |

i really liked the fairy girl (was that Melanie)? She wax oustanding.
Agree about the guy with the kid. Fully milking it, like he's the only father in the world Oh I know we'll chuck him on stage after to really get the crowd going. I also think its really degrading how for like 5 minutes the crowd were wolf whistling and cheering. Can you imagine if it had been a fit girl and the crowd just went ballistic for them just because they looked good? |

The audience at auditions is a dreadful idea. They can easily sway the judges opinions. Plus you just know they're told how to act with all those fake shocked faces we get close ups of. Also I've appeared in the audience on Jonathan Davies's Welsh language Rugby chat show and we were told how to react to everything so it's not a stretch to believe it happens at these auditions.

I've come to the stage where the auditions are just plain boring, they just keep on showing the bad acts which hardly make it in the finals, just a waste of airtime. Also annoying seeing the bad acts auditioning when they know themselves are not going to get through to Boot Camp. And what's the point of the Xtra Factor at this early stage of the auditions, they only show about 3 to 4 acts and the rest is behind the scenes stuff. I think they should show 2 shows over the weekend with the audition stage to get through them quickly.

The beauty of TV editing. Some of the close up shots might not have been for the person on stage. It's actually fascinating what actually goes on in an editing suite for TV purposes. Whilst doing my degree at college, we had a lecture about this (TV and editing not being what it appears to be) and it was very interesting stuff. Like the little girl and her mum: 'so how are you FEELING?' *stares at camera for nod of approval* Oh, I was referring to those pointless bits of the show where they film people sitting around waiting for their, or their relatives, audition and they're all having a nice little chat amongst themselves whilst the whole thing is being filmed in a "spy camera" way. |

Oh yeah, I know, but the 'chats' outside are just as scripted and ridiculous too. The bits at home really are the LOWEST OF THE LOW.

The auditions are just dull right now, but things get more "exciting" for me from boot camp onwards. And during the live shows, I have no life. |

Joseph doesn't sing the typical X Factor audition song, and from a genre I don't particularly like myself, but his audition was very good. I thought he did it very well.
But I too am getting bored of the predictable auditions now. I really do wish it was just the four judges and the auditioner again. |

I was very pleasantly surprised to see Britt Love from Mini Viva on Xtra Factor! I really liked her, but I feel like she could end up in another girl band as I'm not quite sure if she is strong enough on her own! However, I'd like to see her do really well either solo or in a band!

Exactly this I can't blame the audience though because on the Australian version I'm enthralled by the auditions, it's just how predictable and cliche it's all become, with the cringey home stories and the son stories conviently revealed right of the judges etc. It's just boring now, and you know exactly what will happen as soon as you clap eyes on someone. |

The whole audition shows are now a complete joke. Only 5 complete auditions again last night in a 1 hour show.
All these back stories are a complete bore. Who cares about them, what we want to see are auditions. Since they started live auditions it is rubbish. I for one will not be watching until the bootcamp shows. No wonder the ratings have gone down the pan. |

Is it just me or have they always shown around 5 full auditions in one show with other auditions being shown in a montage with a backing track? It doesn't feel any different this year.
The conversations between contestants are just AWFUL though. |

We're getting less of those montages this year I reckon.
