No More Gaga?

http://ladygagarumours.tumblr.com/post/88008516258
I wouldn't mind Stefani replacing Gaga tbh. She needs to do something drastic to get commercial success again, and maybe ditching the Gaga brand is the way forward? I don't know.

I'd love for her to do an acoustic album though, she always sounds incredible in acoustic performances.

You claim she needs a drastic change to comeback strong and then you recommend a move that would absolutely kill her career laugh.gif

I wouldn't mind the change. GaGa, like Spice Girls, is a personality-brand before a music brand. Taking away that brand and allowing her to release things other than GaGa-esque music and strangeness could help.

Also, how would the name be pronounced?

Taking away her brand and "Gaga-esque music" would be taking away everything that made her famous in the first place laugh.gif she just needs to reign it in a bit.

She just needs a killer single like Poker Face or Bad Romance that's promoted properly, simple as. ARTPOP had good music, but not great, and her pretentiousness was off the scale, the singles did quite well for the level of promotion they had though. If she rebrands, that'd be a ridiculous decision!

I've been wondering how her real name is pronounced for years! Is it like "Stephanie" or like Gwen Stefani's last name?

'Telephone' has made Pitchfork's list of Top 50 music videos of the decade so far.

Katy Perry is nowhere to be seen tho

Lady Gaga: "Telephone" [ft. Beyoncé]Director: Jonas Åkerlund | 2010

In this bizarre pop fantasia, a Bonnie-and-Clyde narrative turns into a grand fête of cinema: Beyoncé is the murderous Thelma to Gaga's jailbreaking Louise, their blaze of stilettoed glory ending in an epic dance scene. The cigarette sunglasses are a nice bonus. —Molly Beauchemin

12. Britney Spears, "Oops I Did It
Again" (2000)
11. Rihanna, “Disturbia”/ “Seven Nation Army” (2008)
10. Taylor Swift, “You Belong With
Me” (2009)
9. Kanye West, "Runaway" (2010)
8. Beyonce, “Love on Top” (2011)
7. Eminem, “The Real Slim Shady”/ “The Way I Am” (2000)

Lady Gaga Turned the Ice
Bucket Challenge into Peformance Art

Cait Munro, Thursday, August 21,
2014

Just in case you’ve somehow escaped the ubiquitous Ice Bucket Challenge, here’s the low down: The ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association launched a viral fundraising campaign in which a person is challenged via social media to dump a bucket of ice water on his or her head. The person has 24 hours to donate to the ALS Association, complete the challenge, or do both. Once they have done so, they challenge other people in their social network to do the deed, ensuring the thing spreads like wildfire, or at least a chain letter. At this point, the trend has both spiraled out of control and obfuscated the initial purpose of the campaign, but that hasn’t stopped countless celebrities from jumping on the bandwagon.

Eschewing the typical scream-and-run-around reaction to having ice water dumped upon one’s head, Lady Gaga opted to turn her Ice Bucket Challenge into a performance art piece worthy of her pal Marina Abramović, finally putting to rest the nagging question, “Is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Art?” In a bondage suit and jet black lipstick, Gaga perches on a chair and stares into the camera with dead eyes. She holds a giant silver bowl above her head, gracefully dumps it on herself, and remains unfazed, despite the ice cubes falling off of her, before staring into the camera once again with the same expressionless gaze.

Evidently, once you’ve worn a dress made of raw meat, you must be pretty impervious to discomfort. Gaga posted the video to her Instagram earlier this week, nominating Adele, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, Streamline Records founder Vincent Herbert, and Live Nation Global Music Group chairman Arthur Fogel, in return.

Watch Lady Gaga taking the ice bucket challenge:

That's how it's done gurls, Inimitable style in a dominatrix leotard. It was ranked as the #1 best video of all the celebs who partook in the challenge by LA radio station, Hot Hits.

Full list:
1. Lady Gaga
2. Taylor Swift and Jaime King
3. Emblem3
4. Niall Horan
5. Oprah Winfrey
6. Demi Lovato
7. Cara DeLevingne
8. Justin Timberlake
9. Iggy Azalea
10. Justin Bieber

Paparazzi's performance was breathtaking. I think it will continue to become more appreciated as it becomes 'older' as people tend to appreciated actual classics more than modern classics. I wish she could do another performance on that calibre again!

Considering all of the performances above Gaga on that rate are from the 80's/90's Gaga has done great to solidfy herself as a classic live artist, alongside such greats as Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi and if people think it's iconic 5 years down the line, I can't wait to see how it will fare in 10 years time? 20, 50? cool2.gif

That VMA list is irrelevant though because the Madonna/Britney/Xtina/missy Elliot performance isn't listed. That gave them there highest ratings in the history of the VMAS.

JUST SAYING. Gagas performance was amazing, but overall that list is shit.
