The original 'Pilot' episode of FRIENDS aired on September 22nd 1994, and so we're just under a month away until the show turns 20. So in the build up, i thought i'd make a thread for us to reminisce, laugh and discuss the moments of one of the biggest international shows ever. Who are your favourite characters, any favourite moments, episodes, seasons? Do you still watch it daily, own the box-sets or have you always been a shifty detractor and not given it the time of day for whatever reason? Post anything and everything~ |

I have the boxset and recently went from beginning to end. Oddly, made me appreciate Ross more as a character. Never used to like him at all.
One thing I missed when doing my recent run of this was the episode titled "The One Where Phoebe Gets A New Nose" Phoebe remains my favourite character. Her and Mike >>>> the other couples. Joey remains an arse though. |

F.R.I.E.N.D.S is one of my favourite shows ever! I can't believe it lasted 10 seasons and managed to be both consistent with plot development and humour! My favourite episode ever I think is the one where Ross gets a spray tan - it gets me every time, both the spray tan and that Amanda woman as well, brilliant! To be honest I love all of the six main characters which is so rare for me! Chandler and Ross are probably my absolute favourites though if only for their second to none comedic timing! Love this show so much, always my go-to show when I'm ill/need cheering up and something to watch with my whole family as well - we all love it!

Phoebe is one of those characters where I go on youtube to watch a clip and end up on there for like an hour watching her, one of my fave characters in anything ever

I don't even know where to start because there is so much i love. But i'll go with my absolute favourite moment from the 10 seasons:
!! (it's funnier in the context of the whole episode, and still gets me every single time) |

Unfortunately I started watching Friends only a couple of years ago when I got my hands on the box set and am gutted that I wasn't born earlier to be able to watch it whilst it was on air Ross and Monica have always been my fave characters and always will be
Rachel never clicked with me and she's always been up and down for me. At first I liked her but as it got to mid-seriesish, she kinda became irritating. Then she got better in about season 8 and then got annoying again by the last season. Joey is someone I've always liked (not as much as Ross and Monica) and I adored Phoebe as she made as she made most of the funny comments in the series! I think she should have has the spin-off show than Joey tbh. I did not like the fact that she chose Mike (hate him) over David who I actually quite liked |

I love Friends, still watch it quite often. One of the best and most memorable episodes for me is the one at Thanksgiving with Rachel's sister Amy

Snap! I adore their wedding episode! Also the one where they play ping pong against Monica (donning rather frizzy hair!! ) and Chandler was brilliant, I loved them together there! David always irked me for some reason. Phoebe's wedding was stunning so very Phoebe but also really elegant and traditional too. Her dress was gorgeous, the snow falling, the steel drums....everything I kinda wish there was a bit more focus on the run-up to it, like there was with Monica's, but I guess it would be pretty similar. |

Phoebe's weddin was the best.
I was thinkin about that and it seemed like such a small thing in comparison hbut that suited their characters too Janice was on HIMYM and WITHOUT THAT VOICE!! |

I never really understood the mass adoration for Friends. It was just there. The 'How I Met Your Mother' of the late 90's tbh.
Always much preferred Will & Grace personally. |

I think Rachel was my favourite overall, it's so hard and I could not name a least favourite.
They really set the standard for how to end a show perfectly. I love everything about the final episode and how they wrapped up Ross/Rachel |

One of those shows which I struggle to see how anyone can dislike entirely as it's just so wholesome and the comedy and characters can appeal to everyone. Ross was probably my favourite, if just because I kinda loved his awkwardness and difference to the others. The only one I wasn't keen on was Monica, always really annoyed me.
It perhaps tired on me a little bit as I have seen every episode in it more than once, when it ran on E4, it used to be all me and my sister watched after school I don't tend to watch it much anymore, but I still hold a place in my heart for it. One episode that I've always liked is when Chandler/Monica finally reveal to the others they're in love, was one of the first episodes I saw. The Joey/Rachel storyline near the end of the series is the only time they went wrong for me, just...wasn't right. This post has been edited by Chez Wombat: Aug 25 2014, 08:02 PM |
