#02 Sugababes - Get Sexy (55,708)

Was number 1 all week until 'Run This Town' overtaken it, could have been their 7th number one.

  • Sold roughly 174,014
  • Peaked at #03 in Ireland
  • Lead single from 7th Album 'Sweet 7'
  • Is their 8th biggest selling single
  • Last single to feature Keisha

Thoughts? Did you back the song on release? Convinced it would be a number 1? Any inkling it would be Keisha's last? First thoughts after the video premiered?

I actually have a massive soft spot for Get Slutty. Still love the video too.

The version on Sweet 7 is a no though.

I didn't get into this at all when it was first released and was my least favourite single from them for quite a long time. I do like it a lot more now it has had plenty of time to grow on me, and I do prefer Jade's version as well which helped that further!

Its worryingly hard to believe that this is 5 years ago. Where has the time gone.

I have come to love Get Sexy in recent years. I liked it at first, then went off it massively, but now I do really like it. I prefer Jade's version personally.

I can't believe it's almost five years since that Sugababes pretty much imploded sad.gif

I remember at the time it was very lucky to hold on to #2 and could have well been #3, pretty much like 'Forever Is Over' from the same time.

I liked it a lot at the time in a guilty pleasure way, not as much now but I occasionally whip it out.

At the time I would support them no matter what, even if I didn't really like the song, which I didn't, but in hindsight I'm happy it didn't hit the #1 spot. Especially since 'Girls' only got to #3.

It's a shame the Sugababes even went in this direction and I always pretend that Sweet 7 doesn't exist.

But damn, 5 years ago already, time really flies. I feel like I've accomplished nothing since then laugh.gif

Not one of their strongest hits and I'm surprised it nearly made no1.

It really should have hit the top spot, I was rooting for it and I purchased the CD single!

Would have been a non-number 1 no doubt but still be another to their name!

I love this tbh. Not exactly their best but it's a jam <3

The Keisha version only mind.

Compared to nearly all their lead singles this was a little bit of a let down, although since Girls had been the lead before this one it topped that rather easily.
I remember being so excited/shocked when they had an actual choreographed dance in the video. That was the first time they'd really ever done anything like that.
I also remember Little Boots dissing the song which angered me haha!

If it had come out the week before or the week after I think it'd have hit the top spot. It was a bit unlucky to go up against that awful Run This Town shit.

I found that. That's nothing, not exactly worth getting your knickers in a twist over...

I found this quite an awkward statement

Sugababes have vowed to "up their game" with their forthcoming seventh studio album after feeling complacent when promoting Catfights And Spotlights last year.
