How would you have handled this era?

After a slight discussion about this in the least favourite thread, a few say 'Ace Reject' for fourth single a few say 'Now You're Gone', with 'Follow Me Home' & 'Gotta Be You' also cropping up.

Something I find odd is the hate for 'Ugly', would you not have released that at all?

Mutya hates 'Red Dress' her version lacks life, Amelle's is full of life, agree with that?

How would you have handled this era, want to see the order of 4 singles you'd have released from there, pop a cheeky fifth on too if you like.

If I'd been in charge:

1. Push the Button
2. Gotta Be You
3. Red Dress
4. Bruised

Although choosing a fourth is tough. Maybe 'Ugly' after all, I hate it so much but it did sell pretty well. I don't think 'Now You're Gone' or 'Ace Reject' would've done much...

On another note, I would've excluded 'Better' from the track listing. I didn't hear this until very recently as it's UK only but it's so awful it makes me want to cry. I'm so happy it's not on my edition (yes it's worse than 'Ugly').
I also would've included 'Like the Weather' instead. It's awesome and would be one of the best on the album!

Aww you can't say that laugh.gif 'Better' is cute! '2 Hearts' is a perfect finish though!

I think the era was handled well enough, although I probably would have just cut it dead after 'Red Dress'.

Much as I dislike 'Ugly', it did the business for them chartwise so I can't begrudge them that. I'd have ideally gone with 'Ace Reject' if there had to be a 4th single, however if it didn't work out I wouldn't want it tarred with the brush of "flop single" status.

Why? It's only logical to release a follow up to a top 5 single, especially during a time when it was actually unusual not to release a 4th single off a successful album.

As I said, I'd only release Now You're Gone (or Gotta Be You) instead of Follow Me Home. The first 3 singles are pretty spot on. As much as I love Ace Reject, I don't think it'd do well.

Push The Button, Ugly and Red Dress were the perfect first three singles. I would have released Ace Reject as the fourth and final single. It probably wouldn't have done much, but it's an incredible song and a deserving addition to their greatest hits.

An 'Ace Reject' video would have been interesting, not sure what would suit it?
