The last two weren't great but still had a fair few great songs!
'Talk That Talk' especially. An album that includes both 'Birthday Cake' and 'We Found Love' can do no wrong in my eyes.. |

Unapologetic was awful. Rated R was awful. Everything else is a masterpiece imo but nothing beats A Girl Like Me

Unapologetic is really awful, I've still not been able to listen to it all the way through in one sitting.
I think Talk That Talk may be her best album for me, Loud a close second. Good Girl Gone Bad is another 11/10 album, so many memories too.. This post has been edited by • Josh •: 12th October 2014, 04:25 PM |

Neil NO. 'Rated R' is her opus.
There's not one song on there that isn't worthy in some way and then as a whole package it's exceptional. 'Loud' has all the HITS so that'd be second for me but by some distance because 'Rated R' ranks as one of my favourite albums from any artist. |

I never really understood the hate for 'Unapologetic'! (I think I've written that exact statement here before now, ha). There's some great tracks on there. It's about on par with 'Talk That Talk' for me, although the latter had the huge appeal of containing 'We Found Love' and 'Where Have You Been'.
Although 'Rated R' is a fan-favourite (include me in that), at the time of release I remember a lot of people being incredibly disappointed with it, given it was a huge change from 'Good Girl Gone Bad' which was pretty much worshipped over the previous 2 1/2 years. And of course 'RR' underperformed somewhat at first ('Rude Boy' saved it to an extent), which was a huge injustice. Imagine a new Rihanna album entering at #16 in the UK charts these days! Mentioning 'Good Girl Gone Bad', that album isn't as good as I remember it being back in 07/08. I don't tend to revisit many of the tracks! |

I'm probably alone in thinking 'Talk That Talk' is her best album. But there is not a single song I would skip on there and I'd rank them all at least an 8/10. 'Loud' is a close second.
'Unapologetic' has some absolute corkers on there but the tracklist does not flow well at all. 'Right Now' sticks out like a sore thumb and 'Diamonds' being put between 'Phresh...' and 'Numb' is a bit jarring. |

RATED R - 9.5/10
Highlights: Rude Boy, Hard, Fire Bomb, The Last Song, Te Amo & Photographs. LOUD - 8.5/10 Highlights: Only Girl (In the World), What's My Name?, Raining Men, Man Down, S&M & Skin. GOOD GIRL GONE BAD 8.5/10 Highlights: Umbrella, REHAB (), Distrubia, Please Don't Stop the Music, Hate That I Love You & Breakin' Dishes. UNAPOLOGETIC 8/10 Highlights: Diamonds, Right Now, Jump, Nobody's Business & What Now. TALK THAT TALK 8/10 Highlights: You Da One, Where Have You Been, Drunk In Love, We All Want Love & Do Ya Thang. A GIRL LIKE ME 6.5/10 Highlights: We Ride, SOS, Break It Off & Unfaithful. MUSIC OF THE SUN 4/10 Highlights: If It's Loving' That You Want & Pon De Replay. THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE LIST. Rated R slaying all bases, the point in Rihanna's career where she became an ARTIST. Music of the Sun at the bottom where it belongs, it's weird how went from creating two bad/mediocre albums to giving us one of the most iconic albums of all time. Special mentions to Loud and Good Girl Gone Bad for being amazing. Her last two efforts, although not quite the quality I'd expect from Queen Rih, solid pop albums nonetheless. I'M LITERALLY CRAVING NEW RIHANNA MUSIC; THIS IS LIKE COLD TURKEY. |

Nooo Bal Rated R disturbed me intently, some good songs but meh Unapologetic seemed a bit rushed but Talk That Talk was surprisingly great! Music Of The Sun - 7/10 A Girl Like Me - 10/10 (Solid R&B here) Good Girl Gone Bad - 10/10 (Great follow-up! Her career was gonna fly ) Rated - R - 3/10 (umm ) Loud - 10/10 (Every song I loved. The red-hair really worked for the cover!) Talk That Talk 7/10 (Not bad and some of the songs were bangers) Unapologetic - 4.5/10 (Not feeling this) |

As much as I can't wait for new music..I'm sort of hoping that is fake. The collaborators are just the same old same old.
Although I guess if the songs are good who even currr. |
