Hi welcome to the results- please first of all remember to vote in the finals on the links
 Most Remembered Number 1 Song Round= http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170796 Least Remembered Number 1 Song Round= http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=170794 After 5 rounds, 4 weeks and 3 months since the idea was thought of, we have reached the results. Thermo, Chez Wombat and I will host the results and we will try to get this going as quickly as possible. The results will be done in the style of Record Of The Decade results. There are 162 songs in total- 26 in best final and 16 in worst final leaves 118 songs for us to countdown now, starting at 146. We have had many different voters and the results will start soon

      146. JLS- Love You More 1.423076923 (30 of 34 for ’10) 145. Roll Deep- Green Light 1.846153846 (29 of 34 for ’10) 144. Military Wives- Wherever You Are 1.857142857 (27 of 30 for ’11) 143. Chris Brown- Turn Up The Music 1.903846154 (33 of 36 for ’12) 142. Sak Noel- Loca People 2.071428571 (26 of 30 for ’11) 141. Jason Derulo- Don't Wanna Go Home 2.107142857 (25 of 30 for ’11) Let's start of with 6 songs with absolutely horrifying average. JLS survived being the wildcard by the skin of their teeth with their song Love You More- a song I would give an opinion on if I remember how it went. It seems like most of you don't remember it either with its average of 1.4. Roll Deep have had 2 number 1's though I doubt anyone actually remembers them. Anyway Green Light is quite a good song and finishes 29 out of 34 for 2010. Chris  Brown is at 143 with the absolutely terrible Turn Up The Music [or should have been titled Turn Down The Music] and is the only song from 2012 in this section. 3 songs from 2011 also entered in the first section. Wherever You Are just escaped becoming another charity song in the final, Loca People is arguably one of the most non number 1's ever and I don't think Don't Wanna Go Home is that remembered but nowhere near as badly not remembered as this ranking shows. Anyway it's hard to believe that Jason's songs such as Whatcha Say, Ridin Solo and more were not number 1 when they are his most known.The next section will be presented by Thermo

     136. Ne-Yo- Let Me Love You 2.519230769 (31 of 36 for ’12) 137. Wiley Ft Ms D- Heatwave 2.461538462 (32 of 36 for ’12) 138. Alexandra Burke- Start Without You 2.442307692 (26 of 34 for ’10) 139. Scouting For Girls- This Ain't A Love Song 2.346153846 (27 of 34 for ’10) 140. Diana Vickers- Once 2.192307692 (28 of 34 for ’10) Diana Vickers starts the section with a song that almost didn't go to #1 (I'm not going to dig out sales figures but I remember OMG overtaking it on iTunes during the week). She only ever went to #1 "Once", intact she never hit the top 10 after this song so it's no surprise that it's been forgotten by just about everyone except a few members of Buzzjack who loon over her. The next act I can be 99% sure has no Buzzjack loons though, Scouting For Girls somehow got a #1 single years after they first started hitting the UK charts, constant R1/R2 airplay surely helped but they gradually fell out of favour with the public after this thankfully. The next one was iconically snubbed by R1. Yes I'm talking about Alexandra Burke who is probably not feeling very ok.com with this single choice as despite it going to #1 it wasn't a huge seller and it started her career's decline. It's a terrible song anyway so I'm glad it's this low. Out of 2010 now and we get to two 2012 songs now. Urban stars going all dance on us wasn't uncommon then and we have 2 examples of this here. Firstly with 'Heatwave' (my fave song of the section) which made Wiley relevant again (it shouldn't be this low guys! although it is quite forgotten now) and then Ne-Yo, which like Beautiful Monster, the song felt like an easy #1 and did get there, but years later it feels like a complete non-#1. Up next with your #131-135 is Chez Wombat

 131. JLS- The Club Is Alive 2.846153846 (25/34 for 2010) JLS somehow managed six UK number 1s, mainly through well timed releases and fanbase buys. Indeed you'd probably struggle to recall more than 1 or 2 of them these days. The Club Is Alive is hardly remembered, but it perhaps stands above a few of their other completely forgettable number 1s for the novelty value of sampling The Sound of Music's title track, ofc. why anyone would buy it in the first place is a more puzzling question.  132. Dappy- No Regrets 2.803571429 (23/30 for 2011) The not at all worthy and pretentious sounding debut solo single from the wonderful, sweet hearted Dappy managed to go to number 1 back in the low sales climate of Autumn 2011, it was a bit of a non number 1 and though the man himself is still in all our hearts, the song has faded over time. Any song that uses Chris Brown as a metaphor for a changed man is better best forgotten.  133. Tinchy Stryder Ft Amelle- Never Leave You 2.72 (29/33 for 2009) For a moment in 2009, Tinchy Stryder struck a chord with the public and managed two UK number 1s, it didn't last and these days, he just simply blends in with the many other British pop/grime artists and continues releasing rehashed, unremarkable stuff. Never Leave You was actually a nice song which benefitted from a catchy chorus from Sugababe Amelle, but sounds distinctly of it's time.  134. Nero- Promises 2.678571429 (24/30 for 2011) Again taking advantage of a held back release, low sales period and building hype from previous releases, Promises went to number 1 with what turned out to be the lowest weekly sales for a number 1 of the year, a plummet down the charts, one minor hit later and Nero have thus far, faded from public memory, did anyone know they had a comeback this year? 'Tis quite saddening as this is a song I still really like and listen to now but it appears I'm in the minority  135. Chipmunk- Oopsy Daisy 2.66 (30/33 for 2009) Speaking of bargain basement pop-grime acts, Chipmunk is next with his only (forgotten) number 1, Oopsy Daisy. Although his name can still be seen around in the charts occasionally and he would go on to have a bigger hit that didn't quite make number 1, he has never released anything with lasting potential and this extremely of-it's-time song is no exception except for the chart geek fun fact that the lyric 'And now I feel like Saturdays are weaker' proved to be quiter literal as he beat them to number 1 that week -x- And Team #UltraThermWombat is OFF

     130. Little Mix- Cannonball 2.928571429 (22 of 30 for ’11) 129. Roll Deep- Good Times 3.038461538 (24 of 34 for ’10) 128. David Guetta, Chris Willis, LMFAO and Fergie- Gettin Over You 3.134615385 (23 of 34 for ’10) 127. Ne-Yo- Beautiful Monster 3.134615385 (22 of 34 for ’10) 126. Tulisa- Young 3.538461538 (30 of 36 for ’12) 5 more songs down, were nearly already half way through the 2010 songs showing how memorable that year was for #1's. Also we make progress with the averages as we head above 3.0 Starting off this section is Little Mix- the first band to ever win the X-Factor- with their winner's song Cannonball. Little Mix started off at really low odds but after an amazing performance of Don't Let Go- they became the favourites. Anyway Cannonball is a great and beautiful cover and shows off LM's vocal talents. It is their first of 2 songs that have reached number 1 and I think it is more well remembered than the average suggests. Good Times by Roll Deep which I think included Wiley was their first of 2 number 1's in 2010 and their last on this countdown as Green Light is already out. I doubt anyone remember Roll Deep that well but Good Times is an absolutely great song because of Jodie Connor's fantastic vocals. Also Good Times spent 3 weeks at #1 I believe- that would be a good trivia question as no one seems to really remember it here. Gettin Over You was one of the last great Guetta songs and again this was down to one artist mostly- Fergie who is fantastic on this track, it's a shame the same can't be said about L.A. Love. Chris Willis vocals are also good but LMFAO's part is a racket. I also think Gettin Over You is a bit more well remembered than the average suggests and the song climbed from 41 to 1. The last two songs in this section are two mediocre efforts at best. Ne-Yo seems to have random generic #1's every 2 years and Beautiful Monster is on the better side of his stuff but still bad. It is the 3rd 2010 song in a row and the 12th one out. Tulisa who seems to have a quite big fanbase on here falls at 126 with her only ever solo #1- Young. It is an ok but generic song and Tulisa's solo song shifted 121k on its opening week and was 43 on the 2012 Year To Date chart. Still no 2013 songs yet. When and who will you think will be the first 2013 song to appear? Thermo next for you in the UltraThermWombat presentation

     121. Sam And The Womp- Bom Bom 3.769230769 (29 of 36 for ’12) 122. Jason Derulo- In My Head 3.711538462 (20 of 34 for ’10) 123. Matt Cardle- When We Collide 3.653846154 (21 of 34 for ’10) 124. Pixie Lott- Boys And Girls 3.6 (28 of 33 for ’09) 125. JLS Ft Dev- She Makes Me Wanna 3.553571429 (21 of 30 for ’11) Not even into the top 120 and we get a third dropout for JLS. Which means they only have their 2009 #1s left in the competition. Anyway 'She Makes Me Wanna' was the last #1 single they ever got as a leading act. Of course as much as I like to forget it happened, they did get another #1 after this by being pointlessly tacked on to the X Factor charity single for that year, hence the 'as a leading act' part of the sentence. Anyway the song annoyingly jumped on the 'name some random places' trend (their pronunciation of Africa, just no) It also added Dev to the list of female rappers to get a #1 hit only by featuring on other people's records, originally a chart feat only shared with Lil' Kim but this year Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj have joined them. Pixie Lott is up next with a song that's just there really, it's very basic and doesn't put anything new on the table but it's still an okay pop song. It's certainly the least memorable of her 3 #1s anyway. Matt Cardle easily won The X Factor back in 2010 and predictably went to Christmas #1. But he became as forgotten as quickly as he rose to 'success', and eventually got dropped from Syco and snubbed on the X Factor's promotional advert for 10 years of producing popstars. Another Jason Derulo song is kicked out, it is the only UK #1 from his debut album but it's not Ridin' Solo or even Watcha Say. In My Head got a lot of hate for it being very generic and sounding similar to Just Dance. It is quite good but it doesn't really deserve to be a remembered #1 especially when Jason has Wiggle, Talk Dirty and Ridin' Solo in his collection. Finally it's a novelty dance track from Sam And The Womp. To the surprise of no-one this was their only chart hit but what a good one it was. It's nice to have a fun song and it should be noted for using a saxophone in its drop before Thrift Shop/Talk Dirty/Problem/Crazy Stupid Love. Such trendsetters~ but sadly not very remembered for it. One Direction- One Way Or Another 3.28 (26/29 for 2013) So we see the first 2013 song that made it through appear - Charity songs are never particularly well remembered as songs as they are more concerned with raising money than aiming for musical quality, and this was no exception. This was the 2013 Comic Relief single - a rather ill-advised cover of the Blondie classic fused with a few lines from another classic The Undertones' - and essentially defecating all over them from above. It sold fairly respectably and did it's job as a charity single, but as a piece of music, it's best forgotten.  117. Ke$ha- We R Who We R 3.857142857 (19/30 for 2011) With a little help from her good mate Dr Luke, Ke$ha managed her first number 1 in early 2011 with this...well, standard Ke$ha song really. Indeed, a common criticism directed at this was that it was too typical of her style and there was very little to distinguish it from the far better selling and well remembered Tik Tok, and though it again sold respectably, it never quite managed to justify her highest charting song being anything other than a well timed release rather than being her genuinely most popular/highly regarded song.  118. Iyaz- Replay 3.826923077 (19/34 for 2010) Already fifteen songs down for 2010, the infamous year of the non number 1 indeed. This one was actually far from a non number 1, being one of the top 20 best selling records of the year, unfortunately four years later, it doesn't feel that it was at all. I always hated this and it's a really irritating and cliched song as it was, but it somehow struck a chord with the public, albeit for all of five minutes. Iyaz himself proved to have absolutely nothing of worth to add as an artist beyond this and I think the standard person would struggle to name another song of his.  119. Joe McElderry- The Climb 3.82 (27/33 for 2009) Joe McElderry, the winner of X Factor 2009, was a talent that unfortunately had to learn the hard way that Theatre/Opera was more his thing than a commercial pop star, his winners single - a cover of Miley Cyrus' (when she was still known to most as that sweet girl from Hannah Montana) The Climb, was just as standard and cliched a cover as most before it, however, poor Joe unfortunately won somewhat at the wrong time as this was just the time everyone was getting a bit sick of X Factor getting Christmas number 1 all the time - and championed something, well a little different, which will come later and against the odds, succeeded, and though The Climb made up for it the week after, it left Joe having the ubiquitous title as an X Factor winner that didn't debut at number 1 nor get there at Christmas, a record only shared with Steve Brookstein. Though as a song it may not be remembered, THAT week will forever stay in memory and the song somewhat represents a symbol for the beginning of the end of X Factor's stranglehold on everything.  120. Cher Lloyd- Swagger Jagger 3.785714286 (20/30 for 2011) Speaking of X Factor, Cher Lloyd, 2010's 4th place finisher, pops up here. Cher was always somewhat a marmite character and her debut did nothing to change that image, enchanting and repulsing others almost equally. It is something of a novelty that sold it, it faded very quickly and today, can just about rely on it's polarising and novelty status of the song to keep it just about in public memory, even beyond the artist herself (well, over here, now she's abandoned us for the US) -x- I promise this will get a bit more positive when I get to songs I actually like

Under Control was a generic Calvin Harris #1 which is why no one remembers it. This Is Love was good at the time but I struggle to remember its existence anymore. Part Of Me is amazing and definitely underrated- it is a great and amazing Katy Perry song. Louder is another good dance song but sounds very dated now- anyway Sian Evans vocals still remain amazing. Sorry for not much of a write-up, just really busy at the moment and the amount of times I had wrote something and then lost it because my computer crashed got on my nerves Thermo next

liked Louder very much at the time, seems a little surprising it did so well in retrospect, and hasn't exactly aged the best, but nonetheless a few good summer 2k11 memories with that track
Part of Me  one of the dullest pop hits in recent years, Under Control is also quite BLAH, tho it does have the slight redeeming factor of Theo Hutchcraft's presence on it |

     106. Rita Ora- How We Do (Party) 4.365384615 (26 of 36 for ’12) 107. Cheryl Cole- Promise This 4.269230769 (18 of 34 for ’10) 108. Nicole Scherzinger- Don't Hold Your Breath 4.267857143 (16 of 30 for ’11) 109. Dizzee Rascal- Holiday 4.12 (26 of 33 for ’09) 110. Pixie Lott- All About Tonight 4.071428571 (17 of 30 for ’11) The second of three Pixie Lott #1s drop out, meaning we only have Mama Do left. Whether that made top 100 or not is yet to be seen but right now it's "All About Tonight". The song is very generic which does let it down a lot, but as it was the comeback to a successful first era, of course it was gonna smash. Since then she's found herself in the irrelevant popstars clique, with her latest single having missed the top 100. Following up smash hit 'Bonkers' is 'Holiday' which finds itself at #109, far below its predecessor in this rundown. It's nothing new for a Dizzee song but I do like its summery vibes. It's certainly much better than his most recent material anyway. Next up is Nicole Scherzinger who took advantage of a quiet week to get to #1, knocking Adele's mega-hit Someone Like You off the top spot after it had already spent 4 weeks there and its sales were declining. It is quite good but certainly not a classic #1. It's definitely not as good as Right Here/Wet for me anyway. Cheryl Cole's lead to her second era was initially a big success, selling over 150,000 copies in one week. It dived quickly though and overall sales weren't much higher than 400k leading to it being overshadowed by the million-selling Fight For This Love. It enters at #107. How We Do (Party) predictably became Rita Ora's third #1 single after being held back for a very long time. It didn't become quite the huge hit some were expecting though, and was quickly forgotten, probably because it was very uninspired (didn't stop me from loving it oops) Chez Wombat with #101-105 up next

 101. James Arthur- Impossible 4.807692308 (24/36 for 2012) Just missing the top 100 then is the coronation single for 2012 X Factor champ, James Arthur. Like quite a few other male winners, he ruined his career by being a complete twat and not keeping his mouth shut, and he is unfortunately now destined to go down with numerous other XF flops. Still, you couldn't say he didn't have potential - Impossible reversed the decline of sales in the X Factor winners singles from the previous year and sold very well. It'll probably be remembered more than the Shontelle original ('Who?' I hear you ask), but not much else will be going for it at this moment.  102. Tinchy Stryder Ft N-Dubz- Number 1 4.8 (24/33 for 2009) And here Tinchy is again with his first big breakthrough that got him his fifteen minutes of fame and did exactly what the title of the track said and went to number 1 - helped from a contribution from rising stars (at the time) N-Dubz, well it was marketed that way but it was all Dappy really, seeing as Tulisa & Fazer really can't be heard at all on here. Sounding pleasant at the time, it was aging badly by the end of the year and is totally forgotten now. Tinchy tried his best to get back up to the heights he set himself in 2009 (even hording Dappy back in for an attempt at a recreation of this two years later), but it just never really happened.  103. Pixie Lott- Mama Do 4.74 (25/33 for 2009) And Pixie makes her final appearance just outside the top 100 with the third of her pleasant-but-forgettable trio of number 1s. This one came when she was a fresh on the scene and didn't do too badly, but the fact was quite clear right from the start that she was a pretty face that didn't ultimately have a lot of substance as an artist and since then, has slowly declined with each passing era and a dropping announcement seems inevitable, but at least Mama Do was before things got embarassingly bad for her I suppose we can say...  104. Gabrielle Aplin- The Power Of Love 4.692307692 (25/36 for 2012) Another one from 2012, this one getting there from the power of the selling machine that is the John Lewis Christmas advert. The formula of which has become rather obvious over the years - little known to rather well known female singer/songwriter sings a stripped back cover of a classic hit over a Christmas themed advert that makes the nation collectively go 'awww' and thus sending the song/John Lewis items flying off the shelves over the festive period. This was the first of the songs that managed to get to number 1 in the UK and establish them as a force at Christmas after Ellie Goulding just missed out two years prior and Slow Moving Millie didn't really set the charts alight the year before. It's unlikely it'll be remembered when it's seasonal as it is and it's a cover of a well known 'Christmas' classic itself, but it'll surely get a few spins when Christmas comes around again.  105. Olly Murs- Please Don't Let Me Go 4.519230769 (17/34 for 2010) Perhaps what can be seen as the final of the largely forgotten 2010 chart toppers is the debut single from 2009 XF runner up, Olly Murs. Unlike the boy that pipped him to the post, Olly proved to be quite suited to being a popstar and his brand of radio-friendly, catchy pop songs have done him good over the years. This was his first number 1, and indeed it's all of which I've just described, but he has gone on, against expectation, to do much better over the years and produce far better output, so this one has been a bit left behind. -x- Stick around for the number 1s we actually remember as the top 100 starts with Ultraviolence next!
