(insert banner that somebody's going to make for me because they're a really nice person) Hello my european children! We're still on 'low season' in Eurovision world until February, so by my reckoning we've got time to squeeze in another forum competition! We're going all the way through the last 11 years of Eurovision to find the best song to never make it out of the Semi Finals and maybe, if we're lucky, rediscover some forgotten jems along the way. DISCLAIMER: This contest will be presented fairly and without bias towards people in signatures. No bias at all. Each week we'll take two or three years of Eurovision DNQs and force them to do battle for points a second time. Each year will have a number of entries go through to the semi finals based on the number of songs that will be competing there (it roughly works out as a third of the songs go through from each year, designed to give each year a fair representation so something that comes sixth in 2014 doesn't get through over something coming seventh in 2009) where they will do battle once more and you know the drill from there! So, without further ado, the years 2004, 2005 and 2006. 2004 [4 songs go through] 01 Finland: Jari Sillanpää - Takes 2 To Tango 02 Belarus: Aleksandra & Konstantin - My Galileo 03 Switzerland: Piero Esteriore and the MusicStars - Celebrate 04 Latvia: Fomis & Kleins - Dziesma par laimi 05 Israel: David D'Or - To Believe 06 Andorra: Marta Roure - Jugarem a estimar-nos 07 Portugal: Sofia Vitoria - Foi Magia 08 Monaco: Maryon - Nottre Planetre 09 Lithuania: Linas and Simona - What Happened To Your Love? 10 Slovenia: Platin - Stay Forever 11 Estonia: Neiokõsõ - Tii 12 Denmark: Tomas Thordarson - Shame On You 2005 (5 songs go through) 01 Austria: Global Kryner - Y Asi 02 Lithuania: Laura & The Lovers - Little By Little 03 Portugal: 2B - Amar 04 Monaco: Lise Darly - Tout De Moi 05 Belarus: Angelica Agurbash - Love Me Tonight 06 Netherlands: Glennis Grace - My Impossible Dream 07 Iceland: Selma - If I Had Your Love 08 Belgium: Nuno Resende - Le Grand Soir 09 Estonia: Suntribe - Lets Get Loud 10 Finland: Geir Rönning - Why? 11 Andorra: Marian van de Wal - La Miranda Interior 12 Bulgaria: Kaffe - Lorraine 13 Ireland: Donna & Joe - Love? 14 Slovenia: Omar Naber - Stop 15 Poland: Ivan & Delfin - Czarna dziewczyna 2006 (5 songs go through) 01 Bulgaria: Mariana Popova - Let Me Cry 02 Slovenia: Anžej Dežan - Mr Nobody 03 Andorra: Jenny - Sense Tu 04 Belarus: Polina Smolova - Mum 05 Albania: Luiz Ejlli - Zjarr e ftohtë 06 Belgium: Kate Ryan - Je T'Adore 07 Cyprus: Annet Antari - Why Angels Cry 08 Monaco: Severine Ferrer - La Coco-Dance 09 Poland: Ich Troje ft Real McCoy - Follow My Heart 10 Netherlands: Treble - Amambada 11 Portugal: Nonstop - Coisas de Nada 12 Estonia: Sandra Oxenryd - Through My Window 13 Iceland: Silvia Night - Congratulations Votes sent to me via PM in the usual eurovision form for all three years. Well I have to say my knowledge of the DNQs from 2004-07 is very NOT GOOD apart from the obvious few so I'm hoping to discover some real HOT MESSES
But once we get to 2008, it's gonna be a bitch to vote in. |

Voted! I just don't get some of those 2006 DNQ's...considering the first third of the final was literally the WORST EVER start to a contest, and yet we turfed out Kate Ryan, Ich Troje and Silvia Night in the semis!?!

The 2006 DNQs are mostly very good, definitely very difficult to order my top few! It always surprises me just how fantastic Annet's (Cyprus 2006) vocals are, it's great that her fantastic performance is joined by such a great atmosphere obviously because of the contest being hosted in Greece.
Also, my fact of the day is that Annet was a Britney Spears backing vocalist and also co-wrote 'Everytime' with Britney! I may have posted this before but it's such a great fact! |

Poor forgotten Estonia! And out of that set of countries they've probably got the highest overall quality between the 3. (you also both forgot Belarus) Actually, none of that lot are particularly bad offenders in any of these years - clearly racism. Finland is probably the worst out of the countries with multiple entries in this. Yeah. Thank god they had Lordi to wake them up. |

QUALIFIER TWO:
So, that's the only to essentials through here (in my humble opinion). Which two other songs will be salvaged from the smouldering wreckage of the 2004 semi? |
