Viktoria Modesta is a Latvian/British singer-songwriter, and model. She started her musical journey in 2010 with the release of her debut “EP1” and later in 2012 with her first buzz single “Only You“. She is being billed as "the world’s first amputee pop artist" though i'm not sure how legit that claim is. Anyway she is back with her new single called “Prototype“ - you can listen to the single edit here: https://play.spotify.com/album/43Dq0rw53msHxQ7foEhi7d I've not heard of her before but going on the strength of this i need to check out her previous stuff This is VERY explosive You simply HAVE to watch the video until the end *.* |

i find that billing a little crass, you wouldn't want your status to define you rather than using it as means of interest/sympathy. it'll make her a novelty act and nothing more.

The heading for the Youtube video also states: "Forget what you know about disability." as if we had preconceived ideas that an amputee couldn't make music like this? Regardless the song and video and styling and lyrics are all absolutely incredible. You can't really get into the song as much from the video which is far to stop/start but i urge you to listen to the single edit of it. IN LOVE. |

Well we do have pre conceived ideas that amputees and the disabled can't be glamorous or successful, probably because outside of sport they have receive very little media coverage. So although making her disability the focus of the marketing campaign may seem a touch crass, it's ultimately a "good thing".
The visuals are really impressive. I've been missing that absurdist high glamour thing from pop ever since Gaga's fall from grace. |

Took me a while to get it but visually it's amazing. I still don't know what direction they want her to go in or if she's going to get a push after the X Factor. I don't suppose she's promoting it any further? |

Has anyone found an mp3 of this or an upload that isn't the official video? The edit on Spotify is the only one i can find, but i want that edit on soundcloud or youtube.

The spotify edit sounds amazing *_* I just realized how catchy the chorus is! It really is! You don't appreciate it as much when you watch the Youtube video because a) the song is too broken up and b) you're too engrossed in the spectacular visuals. I need the spotify edit on my iTunes so i can play it non-stop! |

A real gimmick here, and the music isn't even that great to back it up. I'm happy to be proven wrong if she manages to find some sort of commercial success, but I just can't see it happening.

The song is utterly terrible in itself.
