Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 18/01 to 24/01 chart

Sia's elastic heart to ping her into the Top 40
'Uptown Funk' is heading for its fifth week at #1 this week - a feat last that last occurred not too long ago when 'Blurred Lines' managed it in June/July 2013. New entries to the Top 40 should include Sia's 'Elastic Heart' following the release of its apparently controversial video last week, Avicii's 'The Nights', The Prodigy's On Air/On Sale comeback 'Nasty' and Kodaline's 'All I Want' - originally released in 2012 however this would be its first appearance in the Top 40, thanks to a performance on The Voice UK.

It's another quiet affair in the albums, with again Sam Smith, George Ezra and Ed Sheeran battling for the #1 spot. Google Play deals and other discounts should see more albums re-enter/climb the Top 40.

========================================================

The Nights music video was released approx. 4 weeks ago, hence that's why it entered my chart 8 bi-weeks ago (4 weeks) tongue.gif

It's been banging around Spotify ever since smile.gif

Anyone think the top 2 will be non-movers for a third week or will Ed Streamrun pip the #2 spot AGAIN drama.gif

The Nights is #39 on iTunes and #135 on Spotify UK drama.gif (It was one place behind Lips weeks ago when Lips entered the chart on only streams at #89! And The Nights didn't enter the top 200 that weeks? huh.gif)

Surely Hozier's got #3 on lock? Safely ahead of Ed on iTunes and just behind him on Spotify, almost #3 on iTunes with its top version too.

I too believe Hozier could eventually make number 1, a Brit performance for example if it happens could see it reach the summit. A top 3 peak will happen and i would predict it will be a future million seller.

I don't think it will get past Uptown Funk until both are much lower in the chart.

It's all about performance! Though I prefer Uptown Funk so much more than Hozier, it would be a worthy track to reach #1 after we get tired of it being #1 laugh.gif Also if it maintains its performance it will be a 1m seller but it all depends on how long it will take to sell 1m. It could be this year or in 10 year's time! ohmy.gif

You never know. Happy fought bravely while Rather Be was #1 all that time and STILL managed the #1 spot a couple more times. Though Happy is a weak comparison to Hozier this is only an example teresa.gif

I think no1 and no2 will stay the same this week. The charts are very boring right now. No decent new songs coming out neither in next few weeks.

Thank goodness for a moment there I thought TOL was performed on every TV show and every channel and forced everyone to download it drama.gif

tbh Hozier top 5 was expected anyway laugh.gif

If it is #5 now I bet it will be #4 if not #3 by the end thinking.gif

The top 2 will definitely be non-movers I'd think. Philip George is still miles ahead of everyone else (bar Mark of course) on iTunes and he's now top 5 on Spotify as well, so it's not like Hozier has a huge streaming advantage over him. Hozier could be #3 although it wouldn't surprise me if Ed does cling on there for one more week.

EDIT: Was initially thinking it looked like there's some streaming data missing but actually on further inspection I don't think there is, just surprising to see 'Thinking Out Loud' dropping so much. Hozier will be safely #3 then.

The whole top 10 is the same as last week's but some tracks are a bit re-jiggled.
