Finally Ella Henderson's fantastic song 'Empire' is getting a single release as the third single in Australia and New Zealand. This will coincide with the song being used in a TV advert over there for Downton Abbey according to this source.
It's definitely the strongest track on the album not yet a single so I'm glad it is becoming one. Hopefully it is a sign it will be the 5th UK single, hopefully coinciding with a Britain's Got Talent performance in May/June! |

Pleased for this. Empire was the critics favourite from her first Showcase, and a fans favourite since, a mystery why they didn't go with it earlier.
No mention of video for it, so I guess for now it's just going off the back of the Downton promo... |

But I would have gone with Empire for single #4 in the UK. But at this point they seem pretty chilled about releases, I guess they feel the album has done its job. Great choice, really like the singles she's picked so far, although Glow hasn't quite grown on me yet, but Empire is great and also upcoming single Mirror Man should hopefully do well and go top 10.

I just played this for the first time and instantly it struck me as by far her best song since Ghost. They're idiots for sitting on it this long and releasing that insipid crap Yours instead.
