QUOTE Dermot O'Leary @radioleary · 31m 31 minutes ago Good afternoon. After eight wonderful years on @TheXFactor it's time for me to move on. Not fussed, I liked him a lot during the Big Brother days but I haven't been a huge fan during The X Factor. |

Quite shocked at that news! Won't lose sleep over it but I did like Dermot. Hopefully the replacement will be good Jameela Jamil to be the actual host?

Yay Was getting so tedious watching him, particularly last year. Another female host would be very welcome~

I always thought he came across like a genuinely nice guy, had a good rapport with contestants and judges and almost always handled what can be a difficult role with professionalism. Never really understood the level of criticism he seems to get on here. That said, a shake up was probably needed after eight years so it'll be good to see someone else have a go.

I don't wish to sound presumptious, but I note with interest that Olly Murs has either rescheduled or cancelled several of the European dates of his new tour in May/June, just when auditions traditionally start. Nothing may come of it but y'know. Just saying
Sad that Dermot's going mind. He's a local lad from my neck of the woods and I've always had time for him - more so since his Danceathon he did for Comic Relief. Still, X Factor is a show driven by constant or near constant change. Remember how everyone reacted when Kate Thornton got replaced? |

Aw I'm gonna miss Dermot didn't think he would ever leave tbh I do think Olly Murs would be a good replacement though I can't imagine who else would fit the role.

We already had a good idea that Dermot O'Learly was leaving so sadly this isn't surprising He really is part of the furniture and it'll be different without him.
The bar's been set high for the next host anyway |

I'm not just biased when I say this but I reckon Olly with another female presenter (not necessarily Flackers but OH. Major Carolly feels if it was) - maybe even on his own - would work.
He's more than proved he's capable of presenting with Xtra Factor and also his ITV special he did last Christmas, and if Marvin Humes can co-host The Voice with Emma Willis then he can easily do X Factor. And also it'd be nice because it'd be him coming full circle from being a contestant to hosting it. |
