3rd Place: Toy Story 3- 16 Votes [61.54%]

Toy Story 3 is a 2010 American 3D computer-animated comedy film, and the third film in the Toy Story series.[2] It was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Lee Unkrich, the screenplay was written by Michael Arndt, while Unkrich wrote the story along with John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, respectively director and co-writer of the first two films. The film was released worldwide from June through October[3] in the Disney Digital 3-D, RealD, and IMAX 3D formats. Toy Story 3 was the first film to be released theatrically with Dolby Surround 7.1 sound.[4]

The plot focuses on the toys Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their friends dealing with an uncertain future as their owner, Andy, prepares to leave for college. Actors Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack and John Morris, along with several others reprised their voice-over roles from the previous films.

The film received widespread critical acclaim earning a 99% 'certified fresh' rating at Rotten Tomatoes[5] and a score of 92 at Metacritic. The feature broke Shrek the Third 's record as the biggest opening day North American gross for an animated film unadjusted for inflation,[6] and had a big opening weekend with an unadjusted gross of $110,307,189. It is also the highest-grossing opening weekend for a Pixar film,[7] and was previously the highest-grossing opening weekend for a film to have opened in the month of June (surpassed by Man of Steel).[8][9] This is the highest-grossing film of 2010, both in the United States and Canada, and worldwide. In early August, it became Pixar's highest-grossing film at the North American and worldwide box offices (surpassing Finding Nemo), and the highest-grossing animated film of all time worldwide (surpassing Shrek 2) until it was surpassed by Frozen in March 2014.[10][11] Toy Story 3 became the first animated film in history to make over $1 billion worldwide.[12] It is the 13th-highest-grossing film of all time.[13]

Toy Story 3 was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Sound Editing.[14] It was the third animated film (after Beauty and the Beast and Up) to be nominated for Academy Award for Best Picture. It won the awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.[14] Another film, Toy Story 4, directed by Lasseter and with a separate story from the original trilogy by Unkrich, Stanton, and Pete Docter, is planned for a 2017 release.

Finding Nemo FTW. It's only about my 5th favourite Pixar movie, but it's definitely better than Toy Story (Toy Story 2 is a different story though).

I love Nemo but it is absurd to think it's a better film than practically any of the Toy Story films, especially the first!

I chose Toy Story but am regretting it now. I think Toy Story is actually more innovative. Is it too late for someone to change my vote teresa.gif

'Finding Nemo' FTW! My favourite film of ALL time. It's just fantastic from start to finish for me. Ridiculously quotable, light hearted, emotional, feel good! EVERYTHING.

But 'Toy Story' is brilliant too! Definitely deserving of being in the final!

Since the top 5, BuzzJack has been showing horrible taste. Shameful.

Finding Nemo is a wonderful film no doubt, but Toy Story is so much better and would feel a lot more fitting as a winner.

Toy Story 1 was the weakest on the whole list for me, I don't understand what you guys see in the whole series, it's such a bore and Woody irritates me more than anything I can think of to be honest, his face is so SMUG. #TeamNemo

Gah this makes me so sad to see someone talk about the film like that lmao. Woody is Pixar's (or DISNEY's as a whole?) most comprehensive character and the one i feel is most relatable than any others they've created. He's basically an Everyman with huge flaws and his entire character is rooted in helping others and putting them before himself (his relationship with Andy most significantly, not just the other toys) so i fail to see any irritating things about him :/ AND HE'S VOICED BY TOM HANKS come on !!!!

I don't even think it's because i grew up watching it, the series stands above and beyond most other films i watched at that age (except for 'Lion King') and continues to surprise me even now. There's a reason it is one of the biggest film series going for about 3 generations of people now, and will continue to be for future movie lovers - because it's just so damn watchable and made with essences of things we have all experienced growing up..

Leaving this thread now, because it'll only upset me. At least it made top 2 and i love Nemo so i will not snuff at the eventual winner biggrin.gif
