thanks for being a sarcy lil bitch Joined: 25 September 2007 Posts: 79,277 User: 4,397	HEAT 06 oh hi hens! Let us continue this extravaganza by moving onto Heat seks. Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovenia (+Kosovo but who curr rly) used to be together and slaying as Yugoslavia, especially in the late 80s when they even won. Then in 1991 Slovenia decides to Zayn the union and shortly after that Croatia followed suit. Slovenia what a hoe. Then Macedonia thought about it and left as well, leaving poor Serbia & Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina behind. Little did they know these two countries will achieve a lot more than the other 3. A few years later Serbia also decided to leave poor Montenegro and it worked really well for them in 2007 when they won their debut contest with the only non-English language winner of the last (now) 16 years! Macedonia on the other hand has ONLY either DNQd or finished in the 12th-19th region in the final. lolol how awks. Oh and speaking of terrible, Macedonia has been quite unlucky with DNQs in 2008 and 2009. Under the current rules they would've just qualified but the whole jury picks the 10th qualifier RIDICULOUSNESS has thrown them out of the running twice in a row in favour of Charlotte Perrelli and Waldo's People. Let Me Love You was fab so it was a shame. #justice4tijana I've never realised that Ukraine hasn't sent a male into the contest since 2007! And even Verka I consider female at heart~ The country had the incredible run of some of the most ikonec and amazing entries in the past 10 years. The 2006-2009 part was especially incredible. ALL 4 of them are true 11/10 material. Song, performance, artists themselves - the entire package. Since that time Ukraine has toned it all down a bit but still continues to produce huge songs year after year. Let's hope this year's break (induced by russia ofc >:( ) will not hinder the quality in the future. And last (and definitely least!) we have got Germany here. Having served us MoR/crap live/unlistenable/blah teas for the majority of the last 20 years, Germany deserves the insults tbh. The last 5 years have been quite good in mostly an innocent/blah kind of way (Lena excepted ofc. QUEEN . ) though. However, it was so much worse in the past. Sürpriz, Lou and Texas Lightning are BARELY saving that grim selection of 15 entries between 1995 and 2009. It's a true story (probably) that Beautiful Liar only came about after they were inspired to collaborate after hearing Ninanajna. I love Germany, but two entries stand head and shoulders above the others for me. Same with Ukraine.

I've been looking forward to going through Ukraine's entries again (how am I going to choose between Ruslana, Verka and Gravidee?) and Serbia are strong. Unsure about Germany and Macedonia from what I can see there but each of them do have their moments.
