So much for them doing something unexpected or very different. It seems like they have taken a step back and went back to the sound of DNA. In a way, I understand they want to play it safe since it's a first single, but they seem like the kind of group that can actually take a risk now. They have had two successful eras, it seemed like the appropriate moment. Now I'm afraid the album won't sound cohesive between their "different" material and this pop mess. So you've based this "pop mess" on a 6 second audio clip?! I'm glad you haven't jumped to conclusions too quickly... And also, 'Move' was a big risk that really payed off for them, so it's not like they haven't taken risks before. I don't blame them if they're playing it safe with this one. They really need to make sure they have a song that the general public and radio can get on board with. This post has been edited by OutstandingMixer: 24th April 2015, 05:45 AM |

DNA remains their best single, besides Move though?

Obviously the clip is so short and low quality so we can't say we can take much from it but it would seem as though it is poppier and definitely closer to the sound of the first album. For me, the decision to (possibly) go back to the cheesy pop stuff would be one of the strangest career moves ever. They set up themselves up with the 'Salute' era as a potentially great R&B girlband and that album felt like it only scratched the surface of what they were capable of if they continued to develop this more mature and overall far more well-rounded sound. To set yourself up in such good stead to get away from just a purely teenage fanbase, and to do so with mass critical acclaim and also commercial success, with the strength of the new sound making the sophomore slump relatively painless, made it seem like they had the potential to really take their career in a new direction and become a girlband who could really last over time. A return to the pure pop sound of their first era would be entirely foolish and a real artistic misstep. Got to just hope that the snippet is misleading of the sound they are going with this era. |

Perhaps the album is going to be a product of both album one and two, with the lead being more associated with one?

Hmm I suppose we don't know yet and we will just have to wait and see but even if that were the case it would still be a very strange choice. That wouldn't exactly show progression would it? |

From Capital's twitter...
QUOTE #Mixers your girls are back next week! They have all been hitting the gym and look hot & sexy! Max x EDIT: I think they're actually only going back to Capital next week to talk about the new album and single. I presume it'd have premiered by then though? |

I wonder where Leigh Anne got those shorts they are gorgeous.
I presume they'll premiere the track on Capital next week when they're there, I hope so anyway it's definitely the best station to do it. |

Ooh! Promising news to know that Capital may actually be on board for the new era if they have tweeted about that! I'm thinking they'll get the premiere! Now all we need are dates and we are set!

Capital were always weird when it came to Little Mix. They heavily supported the pre album singles but nothing else. I am thinking it'll be the same for them this time round as well.

Only for the first era that was - I don't think they even playlisted 'DNA' - but they actually heavily supported 'Little Me' and 'Salute' (they snubbed 'Word Up', but then again, most stations did). I'm glad Capital are so keen, but I have a suspicion that Radio 1 won't be on board - or if they are, it won't progress past the B-list (see Carly Rae Jepson/Kelly Clarkson). |

I really like the artwork. The artwork from the first era was DREADFUL and I quite liked the artwork from the second era but this looks promising!
