Dusty may have got one or two points from me, but tactically voting in the interest of it not winning a landslide. Siouxsie has been the bridesmaid enough already and Peek-a-Boo is the song to represent the Banshees I reckon!

I love Siouxsie but Peek A Boo doesnt even come close to my fave Banshees (or Creatures) singles, like Hong Kong Garden, Christine, Spellbound, Arabian Nights, and especially Cities In Dust. If any can do it it's Dear Prudence... cheer.gif

Because the current top 40 list looks too much like a compilation by someone who has only got a 'NOW 80s' cd and about 4 (admittedly pretty decent) artist best of albums I am imposing on myself a '1 song per artist' rule UNLESS it's their best song. So sadly Kate gets zero points from me despite Breathing being easily one of the best in the list.

The list needs some variety.

(by the way there's no apostrophe in Dexys biggrin.gif )

I know it pretty well (was a middling hit at the time), but the original Phil Spector-esque version can't be improved on, it's perfectly Epic with a capitol E from start to finish. Live (recordings) versions of classics are no substitution for me, I have never seen the point except as a souvenir of a concert experience. Live versions of non-classics, on the other hand, can often be improvements as I don't have that big love to compare against.

Seeing someone in concert is another thing entirely, of course... yahoo.gif
