Awwwww, really disappointed by that result. Julian Cope would have been a less obvious winner.

I listened to that Julian Cope song purely based on the fact that it was your top mark song and I didn't like it as much as the songs I gave higher marks to.

Glad PSB won. The Top 40 is looking pretty great so far.

PSB's were worthy winners. The chart is starting to look like Brandon Flowers dream Top 40! (Massive PSB/Smiths fan, amongst many 80's acts)

Julian Cope's best stuff was in Teardrop Explodes - now I'd love Reward to win, classic!

Nah, I think Julian Cope was robbed here. Love Comes Quickly is one of the Pet Shop Boys' weakest songs and one I usually skip on their discography album.

Might be an idea to limit it to one record per act when we finish up, have a separate vote to choose the single, favourite track where one act has multiple entries and then open up the duplicates for a second vote? It's a good example of PR (nearly everyone had the Smiths or PSB in their lists somewhere) but it's going to make the eventual 40 a bit predictable.

Agree on all points above.

Love Comes Quickly is dull as ditchwater and a poor representation of PSB
