i need at least a 50+ rate for this one! It's going to be hard to predict with votes split all over the place and no clear leader I expect.

Quite rightly so! Best of all no Smiths, Bush, New Order, Cure to hog all the spots! laugh.gif

Just to say no points for Left To My Own Devices ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif OMG!!! I will remedy this soon as I vote

Extremely hard to rate songs which are so different against each other and then relative to how you'd rated those before on the list etc. Anyway, here's 40 from me which are based pretty much on how I'm feeling right now - could be a very different list on any other day.

40 - Erasure - A Little Respect
39 - New Order - True Faith
38 - Eurythmics - Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty Four)
37 - Inner City - Good Life
36 - Soft Cell - Bedsitter
35 - Madness - It Must Be Love
34 - Toy Dolls - Nellie The Elephant
33 - Madness - Driving In My Car
32 - Limahl - Never Ending Story
31 - Stan Ridgway - Camouflage
30 - Harry Enfield - Loadsamoney (Doin' Up The House)
29 - David Essex - Silver Dream Machine
28 - The Beat - Mirror In The Bathroom
27 - Hazell Dean - Who's Leaving Who
26 - Fun Boy Three & Bananarama - It Ain't What You Do It's The Way That You Do It
25 - The Specials - Do Nothing / Maggie's Farm
24 - Pet Shop Boys - Left To My Own Devices
23 - Elvis Costello - I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down
22 - Peter Gabriel - Games Without Frontiers
21 - Odyssey - Going Back To My Roots
20 - Squeeze - Labelled With Love
19 - Man 2 Man Meets Man Parrish - Male Stripper

I would urge people to not vote tactically to the detriment of True Faith!

A vote for True Faith is a vote for democracy!

looks like Prince, erasure, new order or the cars at the mo in contention. Vote PSB's then vote the others. yahoo.gif

I have hopes New Order will win the 90's version (if that one is done) when it got remixed slightly, if not this one. I would be very happy with Prince, New Order or the Cars as winner though... (if I'm not Left To My Own Devices, of course) tongue.gif

Ah, True Faith '87 should win if it's going to. The 1994 version seemed a little unnecessary.

By the way, why wasn't Blue Monday listed for the number 9 vote?

From memory it peaked at 3 or something later in the decade as remix - though I think it all contributed to main sales?

That's two separate releases I would say, and that's how polyhex.com has it listed. The 1988 remix by Quincy Jones was very different - a good bit faster, poppier and shorter. But it does stop us voting Blue Monday in twice! Mind you, I don't think the 88 version would be my favourite 80s no.3 ever anyway.
