whatup buddy
Ciara beating Years & Years ermahgeeerrrrrrrrrrrd Have you gone back to any other Joywave songs? 'Somebody New' and 'Dangerous' were the ones I know, and then I've started listening to 'Now' a bit as well. But they're not massive faves or anything. 'Traveling at the Speed of Light' isn't quite clicking for me yet although the ending is rather magnificent! Brandon's doing amazingly well on the multichart and you're going to help him even more now! Gr8 chart |

Hi Andy
LOVE your #1, a phenomenal track from CiCi there. I've been a fan of hers for years but only heard the last couple of albums, Jackie in particular really impressed me Give Me Love is another highlight, alongside One Woman Army, not sure if you've heard the album! I heard Ship to Wreck for the first time about 10 minutes ago, I really enjoyed it and I'm not much of a Florence fan normally, good to see that in here Also loving the longevity for Hold Back the River, glad you're not as bored of it as most of the chart show regulars are! Big YAY for Firestone still being around too, only properly loving it now myself, kinda obsessed with Conrad lol. Fab chart |

Gr8 chart Hi, I'll tell you what's up! heidy's out of Skype and exploring pastures new - what a sight to behold! Ciara versus Years & Years was probably the closest #1 battle in Noahspike's Top 50's illustrious eight month history . It nearly came down to who had the prettiest picture on Google Images! (It didn't, I ever so slightly prefer 'I Bet' right now cos I just can't resist a good R&B slow jam~) I listened to a fair few other Joywave songs post-gig but can't remember which ones by name as they didn't leave a massive impression at the time. I'll check out those ones you've mentioned though and report back. Yeah, it's really great to see Buzzjack's got a lot of time for Brandon. A real shame though that there likely won't be a hit from his album as it's brimming with single potential. thx m8 Hi Andy LOVE your #1, a phenomenal track from CiCi there. Everything about it kind of makes me ~swoon~ and chilled R&B tracks executed this well can be few and far between for me...so yeah, I agree! I haven't been too familiar with Ciara beyond her big hits a decade ago (! ) but the new album is on my to-do list so it's good to see you approve . Listening to 'Give Me Love' for the first time right now and liking a lot - v nice breezy chorus. 'Ship To Wreck' was such a grower for me so it's interesting that it clicked with you from the off! Good to see she's winning you over somewhat - I can't wait to check out the album! Nah, 'Hold Back The River' is still sounding marvellous to me. I've definitely appreciated you defending it so well against the regular MOR/hat/long hair haters in the chart show thread! I'd imagine 'Firestone' will sound amazing now the sun might be making an appearance more regularly, cheers Joseph. |

38 | ** | Becky G | Lovin' So Hard
In all seriousness, I'm becoming addicted to Becky G recently. 'Can't Stop Dancing' and 'Lovin So Hard' have both hit me in incredible ways. I've loved all three singles in a row but I'm not sure if the album will ever come because both 'Can't Stop Dancing' and 'Lovin So Hard' underperformed majorly and she can't seem to get a top 40 hit in the UK to save herself. |

Excellent chart as usual.
Particularly the top 10, excellent to see Ciara, Major Lazer, Erik Hassle, Brandon Flowers and especially Django Django who I'm loving at the moment. |

Noah!
01 | ** | Ciara | I Bet Really sad to see this never took off, I'm a huge sucker for an RnB jam and this just delivered that goodness to me in one package. 02 | ** | Years & Years | Shine I appreciate the change of tempo but for me this just doesn't have the same spark, obviously he sounds great though. 6 | 05 | Major Lazer & DJ Snake ft. MŲ | Lean On [05-06] 09 | 04 | Last Lynx | Curtains [04-09] 11 | 03 | Years & Years | King [01-01-02-03-11] 3 | ** | Florence + The Machine | Ship To Wreck Still can't help but feel a little disappointed by this as a single choice because I know the majority fo the album is better but this still is very nice. Queen of Peace would be very welcmoe as the next single though, the chorus is so effortlessly grand. 14 | 10 | Marlon Roudette | When The Beat Drops Out [24-10-14] 15 | 17 | Kendrick Lamar | King Kunta [17-15] 18 | 40 | Sia | Fire Meet Gasoline [40-18] 19 | 07 | Ariana Grande | One Last Time [04-03-07-19] 20 | 25 | M.O | Preach [25-20] 21 | ** | Miguel ft. Wale | Coffee (F***ing) Glad he's back, I love how long this is too, it really gives you the time to be transported. 27 | ** | Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar | Bad Blood This single release is really exciting, the video is an absolute spectacle and by the time we get to the final chorus I'm chanting along, doing some of the ad libs and just getting prepared to get up and whoop some ass with my celeb ninja friends. 28 | 11 | James Bay | Hold Back The River [02-04-09-07-11-28] 29 | 32 | Tove Lo | Moments [32-29] 30 | 48 | Sia | Big Girls Cry [48-30] 31 | ** | Mumford & Sons | Believe Adoring the change of direction from them, to me they sound better than they ever have before. Without a doubt, this track is their best ever for me, the way it gradually builds until it hits the climax of that huge guitar solo is just fantastic. Shame the album is dropping faster than their previous ones although I guess it was expected that the public would prefer the old M&S. 32 | 12 | Tove Lo | Talking Body [12-32] 39 | 22 | A-WA | Habib Galbi [22-39] 40 | 49 | Hozier | Someone New [49-40] 41 | 18 | Rihanna & Kanye West & Paul McCartney | FourFiveSeconds [49-03-08-18-41] 42 | 43 | Florence + the Machine | What Kind of Man [12-19-43-42] 44 | 37 | CAPPA ft. Yep, there's a really effortless, infectious quality to those two, as well as 'Shower' IMO, and I like that her stuff is optimistic and carefree as opposed to trying to set her apart as having some type of 'edge'. It all feels very natural to me, which is surprising as there's surely a huge marketing effort going on behind the scenes to try and make her happen. Would be a real shame if an album never saw the light of day. Cheers for the comment, Lee! Excellent chart as usual. Particularly the top 10, excellent to see Ciara, Major Lazer, Erik Hassle, Brandon Flowers and especially Django Django who I'm loving at the moment. Thanks Joe! Yeah I noticed you're continuing to chart stuff I'm also enjoying at the moment, a lot of which will likely make an appearance in my June chart, namely 'Body Talk', 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt...' and 'Want To Want Me', among others. Agree completely re: 'I Bet'. It did relatively well to challenge for a top 40 placing for a few weeks, given Ciara's diminished profile over here, but gahhh I would have loved to hear some quality R&B on the chart show at least once. I definitely felt the spark from 'Shine' from the off, but I guess its appeal is more subtle than that of 'King' and down to its Ah, that's good to hear your thoughts on 'Ship To Wreck' having heard the album. I still haven't got around to it and wouldn't be surprised if there's stuff on there I prefer to the singles. I'll be sure to listen out for 'Queen of Peace' anyway. Yes, very true re: 'Coffee'! It doesn't drag at all and the section after the rap where he's essentially just ad-libbing over the track for ages works surprisingly well (having not been keen on it on first listen). I can't say 'Bad Blood''s had the same impact on me but then I find it hard to believe Ellie Goulding would make anything approaching a decent ninja so maybe that's holding me back. 'Believe' may be my favourite of theirs too actually! It's continuing to grow on me massively - really lovely lyrics, vocals, sentiment and I love the build/guitar moments as well. I tend to prefer the stuff that fans of their initial material aren't generally keen on/see as 'selling-out' etc. (like 'I Will Wait') so I'd definitely say the band suits its new direction. Thanks. |

Great to see you loving the ~swaggier~ stuff on here, especially 'She Ain't Me' as I really thought that deserved a much better result in BJSC. Yeah, definitely check out Hurts' new one! I really think it could be a long overdue hit for them if handled right. Thanks for commenting! |
