Following the release of his fourth No.1 album, ‘85% Proof’, Will Young announces new single ‘Joy’, out on Island Records – impact date of 25th September. A euphoric, uplifting ballad, ‘Joy’ is the third single to be taken from Will’s new, critically acclaimed and sixth studio album, which already boasts the comeback single Love Revolution, and the stunning follow-up Thank You.

‘Joy’, written by Will with collaborators Jim Eliot & Mima Stilwell, is at once a perfect testament to Will’s innate ability to craft endearing, effortless anthems, while also demonstrating his evolution as a songwriter.

‘85% Proof’ is the sixth album from the multi-million selling Brit Award winning singer-songwriter and represents his most accomplished work to date. Arriving at the top of the charts (making is his fourth No.1 album), ‘85% Proof’ is an eclectic, hugely confident and startlingly human record which continues to cement Will’s status as both a national icon and reigning artistic powerhouse. ’85% Proof’ follows up Will’s No 1 album ‘Echoes’ released in 2011 which has sold over half a million copies. In the intervening years Will moved back to theatre staring as The Emcee in Cabaret (for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award); presented an ITV documentary on surrealist artist Magritte; filtered his passion for politics and social commentary via blogs for the likes of the Huffington Post & Guardian; wrote a best-selling biography and fronted a campaign for Stonewall. He also started teaching and mentoring other singer-songwriters.

Produced by previous collaborator Jim Eliot (Mikky Ekko, Ellie Goulding), ‘85% Proof’ is a creative reflection of Will’s extracurricular activities post-Echoes and his most personal/honest songwriting to date. Writing and recording for the new record also coincided with a move to a brand new label, Island Records.

I'd sack you if you were! Their so bad.

Doesn't sound like a song Will would do.

I agree Sajjadali. I'm so used to, and love, Will's fabulous meaningful and great lyrics and melodies - and this just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. There are much better son gs on the album and, as one of the girls over on Devoted has said, and I agree with her, he threw away - Like a River - for me one of the best tracks and videos.
