American singer song-writer 34 year-old Rachel Platten is looking set for a #1 with her debut track 'Fight Song' (which will become the 1300th #1) unless Jess Glynne can hold off the competition to sustain a second week at #1 or will Charlie Puth feat. Meghan Trainor re-claim the #1 position. Other new single releases come from Felix Jaehn collaborating with Jasmine Thompson on the old Rufus & Chaka Khan hit 'Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better)', Ella Eyre with her brand new release 'Good Times' and Madcon collaborating with Ray Dalton on 'Don't Worry'. The #1 album looks set to change again as Jess Glynne releases her long awaited debut studio album 'I Cry When I Laugh' featuring all her hit singles and collaborations with Clean Bandit and Route 94, her closest challenger will probably come from Bon Jovi with their new studio album 'Burning Bridges'. Other new album releases this week come from Rend Collective 'As Family We Go', Disturbed 'Immortalized', Natalie Imbruglia 'Male', The Fratellis 'Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied', Bars & Melody '143', and The Bohicas 'The Making Of' all vying for a top 40 entry in this weeks' album chart. ======================================================== Changes for all future updates: Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm Tuesday/ Wednesday: Top 40 updates as when we have them not 100% guaranteed, also Twitter is your friend and other social media, OCC will have sales flashes on their own site, please always source them if you post anything on Buzzjack. one of the most unpredictable #1 battles for some time ~ rachel patten's lead on iTunes is small enough to open the door to the more heavily streamed hits just behind her with charlie puth and jess glynne virtually neck and neck ~ or with his pre-order a permanent fixture in the top150 over the last 3/4 months could felix jaehn pull a david zowie?

Sales in the singles chart are going to be low (#1 probably only around 40-45K) so streaming will heavily weight in the chart this week. I predict a narrow victory for Glynne.. but it could just as easily go to Calvin or Charlie Puth!

Her Majesty Jess Glynne to get her 6th #1 this week please *.*
Would've liked a Felix Jaehn #1 this week but as that's not gonna happen g'won Rachel Platten! |

Out of interest, since the chart sales week switched to a Friday to Thursday has anyone ever had sight of a weekend compiled midweek chart? I quite like the first midweek chart being on a Monday but the OCC did indicate that there would be at least one midweek chart compiled and published prior to a Monday. I was wondering if anyone who has access to the midweek charts has ever seen one of these weekend midweeks?

Mint Royale must have done as they were tweeting yesterday about Jojo's Tringle being in the 50s section and Rita Ora rebounding back into the chart. |

Singles chart will be interesting. Rachel would seem like the favourite, her lead on itunes isn't exactly huge but if her streaming picks up well enough I think she can get it
Jess Glynne for around 60k in the albums? Maybe similar sales to Years & Years but a bit higher |

No, but there are definitely ones produced on Saturday and Sunday as Shes Kinda Hot was mentioned by Alan Jones as being #1 then #2 on these charts, before eventually publicly announced as the #6 on Monday's fully published midweek. |

I'll quite like having chart info on a Thursday when we do get it, as the new chart unfolds next day with hardly any changes, prior to this we had to wait 2 days (weekend) before the chart reveal and throw the odd new track in the lower region of the top 40, now we don't get that. I'm beginning to like the new chart change to be honest, the only drawback is just remembering compiling the new thread topics for the new chart week.

Anyone think Jess Glynne will do a Sam Smith/Ed Sheeran and hang around the album top 10 for over a year

I didn't personally expect Jess to have huge numbers for her album until everyone else said it. I thought she'd be around the 35 - 45k areas.

Will be interesting to see where Bars & Melody end up in the albums - They have 19 album signings between Friday and Thursday so capturing the whole sales week plus 2 x CDs, Tape, £5 SMS download & Vinyl plus bundles with concert tickets and a special edition fan album that includes the names of fans that pre-ordered.
Can see it having a 4-77 chart run |

Ideally Bon Jovi, Natalie Imbruglia and Rob Thomas can do well in the album chart, it is less likely too happen for Rob Thomas i would predict. Bon Jovi have missed out on a few number 1's with their last releases simply by releasing at the wrong time, i.e last week they would have easily got to number 1 but Jess Glynne is the obvious number 1 this week. With Bars and Melody carrying out so many signings this week they could steal the number 2 and absolutely drop like a very big rock next week.

Tape? As in cassette? Seriously? Yeah, they're wheeling out all the gimmicks... Standard CD, Deluxe CD, Vinyl, Cassette and a USB (Lego version for each of the members), so that's SIX physical formats. Is that even allowed? |
