Hi thurr cool.gif

Nice #1, though I'm avoiding listening to it anymore as I still haven't figured out what the chorus melody reminds me of and it'll only frustrate me further! Can't help thinking it sounds Christmassy for some reason so maybe that'd help explain the connection. thinking.gif

Excellent that 'Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself' is so high wub.gif. I'm really impressed with how that song manages to do the 'empowerment' thing yet feel completely uncontrived. Just a genuinely uplifting, joyous track with a lovely sentiment, to which anyone can relate I'm sure. The post-chorus is sooooo good in particular. <3

I hadn’t realised you never charted Becky G until now ohmy.gif. I know you liked the song a while ago so was it a case of hearing it a bit on the radio and it clicking more? She has such a (surprisingly) good hit rate in terms of quality singles and her new one is definitely keeping that up - would be great to see it return her to the Hot 100 after 'Lovin' So Hard's undeserved misfire. happy.gif

21. Twenty One Pilots – Tear In My Heart

Hmm I see what you did there banana.gif sarah11

Great to see debuts for 'Cheyenne', 'Drag Me Down', 'Run Away With Me' and 'How Deep Is Your Love', as well as the climbs for 'Should’ve Been Us' and 'Come And Get It'. biggrin.gif

Hey Jordan, hope you're enjoying your summer smile.gif

1. R. City feat. Adam Levine – Locked Away Oh my, that's a high new entry! Only heard this once or twice and I haven't found it very memorable, but that might all change if the UK radio decides to get behind it...
4. Demi Lovato – Cool For The Summer [24-4] Easily my favourite song of hers smile.gif
5. Adam Lambert – Ghost Town [29-6-7-5]
7. Omi – Cheerleader [32-1-2-7]
8. The Weeknd – Can’t Feel My Face [12-8] I've tired of this a little now but it's still quite the tune!
9. Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ – Lean On [2-1-3-9-9] Obviously a great song but I'm a bit annoyed that Powerful was such a flop unsure.gif
10. Maroon 5 – This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like A Motherf****r [2-3-10]
11. Jess Glynne – Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself It's good but I just can't get as into this as everybody else seems to be!
14. Skrillex & Diplo feat. Justin Bieber – Where Are Ü Now [15-14-5-14]
15. Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood [11-6-15]
17. John Newman – Come And Get It [39-17]
23. Silento – Watch Me [38-23] No, Jordan. Just NO!!
25. Jason Derulo – Cheyenne This is SUCH a great song, I wish he'd hurry the hell up and release it!
26. One Direction – Drag Me Down Nice to see this enter, it's not their best but still a great song and whets the appetite for (what will probably be their final) album!
28. Fall Out Boy – Uma Thurman [18-28]
30. Kelly Clarkson – Invincible
31. Walk The Moon – Different Colors This was the only other standout song on the album for me. Is it the next single?
32. Jess Glynne – Hold My Hand [32-32]
33. Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away With Me Perfect follow up to IRLY, love the 80s vibe to it smile.gif
34. Rachel Platten – Fight Song [36-34] It's not a bad song I suppose, but I really don't think this deserved UK #1.
35. George Ezra – Blame It On Me Very belated new entry, is this the current US single? How has his album sold over there?
37. Calvin Harris feat. Disciples – How Deep Is Your Love
38. Petite Meller – Baby Love [13-38]

Quite a few in your chart this month that I haven't heard but some great songs in there nonetheless!

hi.gif

Aww, you're missing out on a great song but it will be unavoidable before long tongue.gif

'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself', while uncontrived as you said (my spell check doesn't recognize uncontrived as a word pirate.gif), is also pretty triumphant tbh funky.gif

'Lovin' So Hard' hasn't clicked more at all, I just never listened to it enough to consider charting it until now! But how could I forget it this month when I heard it on the way to AND from the fair music.gif

Yes, you see what I did there because I pointed it out to you

Cheers for your otherwise observant observations cool.gif

Hi Rob!
1. It's gonna happen! And it won't annoy any Adam haters because Adam does nothing annoying on it cheer.gif
10. I'm very upset about this sad.gif
26. That's cool, I just wasn't expecting this sound I guess and it took some getting used to hearing their voices on something reggae.
35. Yeah! It's just now become a single here. Budapest took a very long time to run its course.
37. It's about time! ohmy.gif Still waiting for it to click with me more so I know what you mean.
40. Oh, one of her songs was already entered in BJSC a few months before you joined! It's called America's Sweetheart if you're interested.
Thank you for commenting! And I'm thrilled you like Burning House wub.gif

I am, Mango, thank you! There's been no rain for about a month so I haven't been stuck inside cool.gif
1. Yeah, the overplay here is already affecting this song for me! We'll see how it holds up...
4. I might have to agree now!
8. Same!
9. I haven't listened to Powerful yet, but I'm not too surprised that it flopped only because Major Lazer have always missed the top 40 except for Lean On! They should rightfully have several chart hits by now.
11. It really does cheer me up, maybe you just aren't in need of any Jess Glynne empowerment at the moment tongue.gif
23. teresa.gif
25. Me too! But it's underperforming just about everywhere which makes me nervous of its chances sad.gif
26. Indeed! I hope they release more than two singles this time around!
31. It is in the US, I haven't heard about the UK yet but it might be there as well!
33. Yes, I saw so much hype around the side and it turns out everyone was right ohmy.gif
34. I agree, although it's a decent #1 for variety's sake and I'm pleased to see Rachel get to #1 somewhere.
35. Yes, current US single. I haven't paid much attention to how the album's doing, I'm afraid. Only one week in the top 20 so nothing spectacular!
Thank you for commenting!!

Hi Riser

In love with Locked Away at the moment, reminds me of Payphone but better, this is the sort of stuff I love so I'm glad to see we get catchy hooks from both M5 and Adam as a solo artist, hope it grows into a hit more in the UK.

In love with Jess Glynne's single, one of the songs of the year, it is SO joyous and when she belts in the middle 8 and the final chorus her voice is so BEAUTIFUL, ah what a voice, so glad she's picked up fans too for her album to sell so well, I was worried she was just lucky to be on a lot of catchy songs and no one would take notice but glad to be proved wrong.

Drag Me Down is another great single from 1D, Four was an excellent album, their maturer sound is so strong when compared to their first few singles, this one seems to be another strong one so I'm gutted to hear it'll most probably be their last sad.gif

Do It again is so catchy, it's like an Ariana song but it has a catchier hook than anything she's done so what's not to love, I've never really liked PRoblem much and to me this is the sort of thing that would be Ariana's best song. Also, Chris is on fire at the moment, everything he's on is an absolute tune.

Love the switch-up in sound for Calvin too, I'm a massive fan of his formula but it was a great time to just take a quick break from it and still release a massive tune that is clearly popular, shame it never had the slot to add to his great #1s tally in the UK sad.gif

Fab stuff!

Hi Josh! Thanks for commenting!

I would agree that 'Locked Away' is a big improvement over 'Payphone'. It's the best Adam Levine feature that I can think of, although 'Stereo Hearts' was also pretty good.

Yes, very good to see Jess's album off to a good start. Indeed she's been very lucky with featuring in all the right songs but I guess all the momentum has worked in her favor as well! And this song really does make her stand out more than Hold My Hand and Right here did!

Yeah, Four had so many missed single opportunities which was disappointing enough, and now this being 1D's last album doesn't help. Just gotta hope they make the most of it!

I'd disagree and say that Ariana's had better hooks (and songs overall) than Do It Again but that's nothing against Do It Again. But I think Ariana's songs have had more personality than this. I am intrigued to hear what Pia releases next. They do have similar voices though ohmy.gif

I would argue that Calvin's #2s tally is even greater than his #1s tally magic.gif So I'm actually quite pleased with How Deep Is Your Love's peak tongue.gif. I worry that he's done a bit of trend-chasing here but it is such a solid effort and hopefully he can afford to take those risks at this point.

Thanks again!!

Elle King may get herself a new peak, Brett Eldredge should drop to some extent...I can't see her slaying more, but maybe on the Hot 100 magic.gif
