I had someone tell me which are the dancier ones and singled them out. Children, Been You and Get Used To It Apparently?
'Been You' is properly excellent! Surely a single? |

Been You isn't on the standard edition so I doubt it!
The standard album really is fantastic Not a single weak track. The deluxe tracks are good but a bit less good and a tad samey. The three Target tracks are better. My album highlights are Love Yourself, Company, Children and The Feeling, and I like I'll Show You much more in the context of the album actually. |

Kinda wanted this to be more like WDYM and Sorry than it is but still a nice album, maybe a bit long but the songs are all very nice. Think my favourite so far is Love Yourself.

The first half is so f***ing boring. Children *.* Been You is pretty strong too. The production is fine as hell. The f***ing spoken parts though. I usually don't mind them but these ones sound so f***ing pretentious. In what way are they pretentious I hate that word getting thrown around especially when there is nothing even remotely pretentious about them here, especially as the monologue comes at the end of 'Purpose' (ie. the END of the album where he wants to give a parting message (and then again at the end of the deluxe album)) - a lot of albums do it and it makes more than enough sense to come in an album where he is directly addressing the public explaining the past few years. If anything it needs MORE spoken moments. The album on second listen is even better than I initially thought. |

Halsey makes The Feeling sound like 15 year old Bieber is signing the chorus.

After a few listens I do think this is by far and away his best album, my only problem is that the ballads are pretty dreary and bring the overall thing down, I am especially not getting the love for 'Love Yourself' - it is so dull and sounds like Ed Sheeran could easily stick it on his album. The album is just too long and that allows fillers to sneak in to what could have been an absolutely incredible album.
I have made my own version of the album taking out the tracks that aren't doing it for me and in this form, it could challenge for one of the best pop albums of the year. 1. Mark My Words 2. I'll Show You 3. What Do You Mean? 4. Sorry 5. No Sense (feat. Travis $cott) 6. Company 7. Been You 8. Children 9. We Are (feat. Nas) 10. Where Are U Now (with Skrillex & Diplo) 11. Get Used To Me 12. The Feeling (feat. Halsey) 13. Hit The Ground NOW that is an incredible album |

'Love Yourself' is great. Does it sample something? The melody in the verses is so familiar! (I'm thinking maybe Whitney - My Love...)
Such a good album, despite a bit of a downbeat start (barring the 2 singles). But such a fantastic, reinvented sound for him. Not surprised that he's at quite possibly the peak of his career. Especially now with streaming and those who don't want to publically admit they like him, can stream the album and enjoy it! |

It's a very impressive turnaround, something I never thought would be possible to do! |

As much as I've stanned for his dancier tracks this year, 'Love Yourself' is by far my favourite track of his yet, gorgeous

Love Yourself surely the 3rd single?
I know it's already doing well with cherry picking, but this is another potential #1! |

I'd say it has Grammy performance written over it.

Charts at #2 then, only 2593 sales off number 1, another day and he would have done it.
Still a great result and I imagine this to be a real big seller in the long run |
