So with confirmation from Gaga herself that the new album is coming THIS YEAR, what do you want from the album? Think about the actual music (do you want FAMEpopGA back or more experimental ARTPOP style sounds?), what do you want from the promo, the music videos, the tour. It's going to be a seminal era for her I think and one that could put her back on top or further divide the public's opinion on her so in an ideal world, what do you want from the next Lady Gaga era? |

Something resembling a tune, something that doesn't sound like she's trying desperately hard to make a statement but coming off trite. Most of all though, for her not to be SHOUTING her way through the songs.

Something refreshingly new, yet old at the same time (if that makes sense!)
I'll write more about my expectations/hopes for promo/tour/imagery later, there's too much to say |

She has said that this album will be a lot more FUN which is what I want. She seems to have channeled her pain through ARTPOP and AHS and is much happier and free now. Having said that if she does want to explore dark themes it needs to be accessible and less overt. Some of her best songs are dark (DID, BR, TEOG, MTN) but they're done in subtle ways which work.
More than most I just want her to enjoy it. ARTPOP was quite a horrible era to follow because she was so evidently in pain throughout it. The music then reflected that disdain she felt. I am fairly confident she can come back with solid music. I love ARTPOP but I'd only ever want one album in that vein, for my own and for Gaga's sanity ~ |

I've also heard the music will reflect some elements of her character of the Countess- which could be interesting!

Is another The Fame/Monster really what we want from GaGa though?
I don't want another ARTPOP obviously but a Fame Monster rehash wouldn't be great either. This is the Lady Gaga that's meant to be reinventing herself not staying in 2009 when that year ended more than half a decade ago. I would like some good modern pop songs which she proved she can do with Do What U Want. Maybe more in an R&B or house style as those seem to be what's hot right now. Or even a Love Yourself/FourFiveSeconds type song, she's definitely got the voice for it but it would be risky when we're so used to uptempos from her. Basically anything that'll keep her relevant and musically interesting. |

Is another The Fame/Monster really what we want from GaGa though? I don't want another ARTPOP obviously but a Fame Monster rehash wouldn't be great either. Basically anything that'll keep her relevant and musically interesting. This is all very true. The likes of Madonna etc had eras that weren't successful commercially but the continuous reinvention kept them going for the long run. If Gaga wants to truly follow in her footsteps she needs to move forwards not look backwards. |

I just want commercial music that still pushes the boundaries and is all about her. But I'm confident she can do that, she has a real talent of staying on trend but not coming across as too generic or copycat. I think Do What U Want is a great example, it was still very her but it felt fresh and not she'd just dragged it out as 2009. As much as The Fame Monster is one of the absolute best eras ever, I agree she really doesn't need to be regressing back to 2009. She has more than enough talent to do pretty much anything, it's just a case of getting it right commercially without compromising herself which I know she can do <3

I just want some solid music that is still out-there but not ridiculously so. So more like her first few eras but of course reinvented.
OH and better production this time. Some songs on ARTPOP were ruined by the production alone (looking at you in particular 'Swine'). |

I was so excited around the time I first heard 'Clarity' at the start of 2013 and it was announced he was working with Gaga, I thought in my mind this cannot be something other than truly amazing... and we got 'Donatella'.

Basically Born This Way with less production, similar to Fame Monster production. Nothing like Artpop, The Fame or Cheek to Cheek but elements of each area here and there which make it evident it's clear step up and that she's learnt something from doing jazz classics and various tribute covers
