In two minds on seeing this! The cast is absolutely dreadful and I don't like Benjamin Walker at all but I adore Nicholas Sparks novels and The Longest Ride is in my top 5 from last year So I have no clue if I'll see this or not!

I thought this was pretty naff, I've not seen any of the Nicholas Sparks film adaptations and I doubt I will now. Some of the dialogue in this was so cringey, I felt embarassed just watchin it. It did have two main things going for it imo, Teresa Palmer was very watchable and very likeable, she outshone her on-screen partner in every scene. Also, the jokes were quite good, I chuckled a few times and I thought the proposal scene in particular was really quite funny.
However, Benjamin Walker was a bit iffy, sometimes I thought he was good but I think he got the most cringey lines and he just couldn't pull them off, I felt a bit barfy at some of his one liners It was also way too long and really started to drag towards the end, I thought it was going to end quite a few times but just never did and then I was just left wondering when it was going to end. I did enjoy this overall though but it could have been shorter. |

I don't like Benjamin Walker at all But he was in your favourite movie of last year I really quite liked it, I liked the leads (maybe for aesthetic reasons) and was drawn in by the romance, the proposal scene that Josh mentioned was cute. Also agreed that it was dragged out, and not that I wanted her to die but the ending was really eye-rolling-ly predictable and I disliked the way it was handled. As much as I did enjoy it, it felt like not a lot actually happened and "The Longest Ride" was better imo. |
