so frustrating for tiësto/heldens stalling in that #51-55 zone  ~ if 'the right song' had managed to sneak into the top50 no doubt it would've zoomed up into the top40

was surprised to see some oldies in the top 200 like Sinead O'Connor - Mandinka, Damien Rice - Cannonball or Cranberries - zombie and then I realised it was St Patricks day so people might have been listening to some Irish playlist

I'm not too clued up on this, but does anyone know how high a song has to get on Spotify to chart top 200 officially without selling anything on downloads? I see Love Myself got to #180 which I assume was mainly due to Spotify, and I think that got to #70ish on Spotify.
I guess a song would need to go top 60 on Spotify to go top 200 officially without any iTunes sales? Asking this as Frans is at #94, if he charted in the UK top 200 prior to Eurovision that would probably be like the first time ever in the UK, at least in the modern age. |

On the chart revealed on 26th Feb, Sigala entered the top 200 at #109 on streams alone. It climbed into the top 50 just a few days after that (there's not any top 200 data on here sadly and Kworb has stopped archiving it boo) so it could maybe be around top 70, top 75 even on Spotify to go top 200 overall? Just guesstimating here!
Actually, just did a calculation, based on it taking roughly 3k chart sales to make the top 200. 3,000 chart sales = 300,000 streams, divided by 7 days and it'd be around 42k streams a day needed. Yesterday, every song in the top 83 had over that! Taking into account there will be data from other streaming services, it could even be less

Frans has been added to the Hot Hits UK playlist on the homepage, so hopefully that keeps getting advertised over the next few days!
Oh and he's still in the UK Viral top 50 as he has been since Melodifestivalen, and fellow Eurovision entrant Barei has joined him as well as Joe and Jake.

It's been top 100 a short while! Kworb is just a bit funny with the collaborations at times, Firestone shows up as "NEW" now and then I've noticed :')

Wow at Frans getting that push! I thought Spotify would kill off Eurovision songs charting in the UK but I guess the opposite could happen if a song really catches on (and pleased to see Spotify aren't immune to putting Eurovision songs on their promoted playlists!)
That said, I guess 95% of listeners have no idea it's a Eurovision entry. |
