It's OK, doesn't sound particularly special, but at least it's not awful like HDIYL which others have brought up.

It's...decent. I wasn't left with any strong feelings, but I admire the subtlety, especially coming from Calvin & appreciate that it isn't just an attempt to recreate We Found Love (which is my favourite from both artists and would've been quite hard to top). Just think it could pack a bit more of a punch than it does and it sort of builds and builds in the verses if only to not really go anywhere in the breakdown, hopefully a grower.

I think I agree more with the comparisons to "Thinking About You" rather than HDIYL or WFL. It's like a hybrid of the three.
That said, it sounds pretty nice, but I'm not completely in love with it. I'm pretty sure I'll be obsessed with it in a few days. |

I don't however really see the comparisons to TAY if I'm honest although that's my favourite track by him.

I'm confused as to why it is so important to people that a song "couldn't be sung by everybody". Like half of the hitsongs could be sang by a lot of people?

I actually disagree with 'Sung by anybody' I instantly could tell it was Rihanna in the chorus
Also I dont get why everyone is saying their 'disappointed'. Would you want another We Found Love, because that would be very boring and even more disappointing. Its clear he wanted to do something and at the same time stick to the same sort of sound of How Deep Is Your Love It was pretty much what I was expecting and wanted |

It's not as amazing as I had hoped for, but pretty good. Nice to have another Calvin & Rihanna collab!

I actually disagree with 'Sung by anybody' I instantly could tell it was Rihanna in the chorus I think he meant something along the lines of the song being sounding just as good as if another singer sung it. In this example I would agree that someone else could have sung it and it wouldn't lose quality of the song, maybe even improve it. |

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one slightly underwhelmed by this. It's not bad but nowhere near his best.

I wasn't sure when I first heard it this morning as it had no drop but they more I've heard it I've gotten to like it. Very different from the usual Calvin stuff. More calmer

Just heard this before. It's ok but certainly not as catchy as some of his other lead singles. It's a bit dull and not very memorable.

Well that turned out pretty boring sort of just like an inferior version of Thinking About You, and none of the spark or life that made We Found Love good either

This is just another run of the mill crapp dance song. Assuming BJ is lapping this up because of who is involved.

loving the subtlety of this but it needs just a BIT more oomph in the bassness / drums of it to push it further

Is "This could have been sung by anyone" the new "This song was ghost produced"?

Yeah, this is really shite.
Sorry RiRi, stick to the Anti sound rather than this generic rubbish thanks. |

Love love love!
I was fully expecting it to be subtle in comparison to 'We Found Love', so from that perspective I'm not let down by it at all. I really appreciate that it has a different vibe actually. Is this song reinventing the wheel? Not at all. Is it an enjoyable song for the time being? In my opinion, absolutely! It's on repeat. |
