After the success of UltraMichael's co-hosted FF game a few weeks ago, I've got together with Princess Lotti to bring you a Pointless game with a difference.
The rules: * The standard Pointless rule - You should try to come up with an answer that is both correct and one you think fewer people will have answered. * If nobody else shares your correct answer you will be rewarded with a score of zero. If anyone agrees you will gain a point for each player who agrees with yours. * If your answer is wrong you will score the maximum i.e. the total number of players * The difference - YOU MUST NOT USE GOOGLE, BING, WIKIPEDIA, THE CHILDREN'S ALL COLOUR BOOK OF FACTS 1974 or even ASK YOUR DOG. Answers must be given from your brain, from what you already know. You could cheat, you could look something up even to check if your brain was right, but ask yourself whether you can live with such a hollow victory?! * Seriously, try to give this a go, we reckon it'll be fun and normal game service will be resumed with the next one. Answer the questions and PM me (Richie) or Lotti (princess_lotti) - we'll be adding them to a masterlist as we go. You have until the end of Friday 1st July to get your answers in. We'll post the answers and final scores on the 2nd. I won't tell you which questions came from me and which from Lotti but hopefully everybody will be able to come up with a guess for each of those. 1. Name any movie directed by Stanley Kubrick 2. Name a horror movie that features a doll as a main part of the storyline 3. Name any actor who has ever worn a Ghostbuster uniform in a movie. 4. Name a female character from Finding Nemo 5. Name a comic actor / actress who began their career on Saturday Night Live. 6. Name an actress who was nominated for an Oscar for best Actress in 2014 or 2015 (includes nominees and winners) 7. Name any actor who has provided a voice for three or more Disney / Pixar animations 8. Name an animated movie, which has already been released or will be released in 2016 in the UK 9. Name one of the Top 20 British films of all time according to the Empire poll of 2011 10. Name a song by Lana Del Rey that is on a movie soundtrack Bonus Questions: 11. Name any song written by the Sherman Brothers that features in a movie. 12. Give a Shrek quote Hope you enjoy! Entered, didn't use Google, so missed out a couple.
These games are flawed though, as there's no way of finding out if people used Google or not, and part of the usual fun of Pointless, is to use Google as tactically as you can. However this was interesting to try! |

Cheers - this is just an experiment. I know a lot of people like that element of it...but you can still do it if you know multiple possible answers.

Fun exercise, very different from the normal Pointless. I'm far from being a movie buff though so I've had to make guesses on a few of them - safe to say I won't be winning.

Some of these questions are impossible without google and on the whole the fun of this has been sucked out of it. Entered though, just to be a good sport.

Some of these questions are impossible without google and on the whole the fun of this has been sucked out of it. Entered though, just to be a good sport. Which ones? All are perfectly doable without Google. Some are obviously harder than others, but not much harder than your general knowledge questions you'd get at the pub in a pub quiz.

One is proving a bit difficult, but there are actually loads and loads of easy answers once you know what we're looking for. But otherwise, yeah, I'd say it's subjective. I didn't enter Regina's one a while back as I wouldn't have been able to give a single correct answer (but hopefully different folks' knowledge will level this out - which was kinda the point).
For the record, there's also one in there that I wouldn't be able to give an answer for - but that's where guesses come in |

Well, I enjoyed the different way of doing this and happened to know a few answers/educated guesses for most of these, only one I left blank. I'd definitely welcome this type of quiz to the site more, however difficult it would be to ensure everyone is authentically not googling.

Really excited to do this later!
I also hope people stick to the non google rule and don't cheat! (I'm really hyped to try it without google, even though I'll probably flop!) |

Confident I can name a correct answer on eight of these without google, plus can probably take an educated guess at the Empire question and hopefully something comes to me for Q2 (actually I think it may already have as I've been typing).
Stanley Kubrick is going to catch me out (unless I take a lucky guess when trying to think of some of Bal's favourite movies ) and I'm not too sure who the Sherman brothers are even if they have written some well known songs. But assuming no one cheats and we're all on a level playing field, I'm not too bothered about getting one or two wrong as I'm sure everyone will somewhere! |

if i enter this can no one please laugh at my answers
Did an FF style answering for most of them, guessed random answers for most of them, didn't answer anything for 3 of them. This is going to be a great results presentation This post has been edited by spun: 27th June 2016, 04:56 PM |

Question 1
I will definitely be doing this and definitely not be googling so on first glance I may get some incorrect but we'll see. Around 4/5 I should be able to get very good answers for I think |
