So Olly was on Graham Norton's Radio 2 show this morning for a chat in light of 'Up' being nominated for Best Single at the Brits (it was a funny interview). Whilst there, he confirmed a few details about album 5, namely:

- Work started on the album this week.
- He wrote or co-wrote three new songs for the album last year.
- He is spending a month in LA after the Brits working with some new producers.
- Recording will finish in May, and he intends to have the first single ready to go by June/July.
- He intends to keep exploring the 'Kiss Me' type sound, and also hinted that 'SexyBack' era Justin Timberlake is a route he wants to go down.

He also advised that, his Cork Marquee and Take That at Hyde Park gigs aside (I'm at the former, YAY), there are no other tours or live dates lined up until 2017.

Not sure producer wise who is on board, I'd imagine Claude Kelly and Steve Robson will be on as always though. They're the Xenomania to his GA, they've done every album with him. I'm pleased to hear we'll get a summer single again like with the first two albums. It worked having 'Troublemaker' come out in November before the album, but I almost feel like they left it too late with 'Wrapped Up' at the time they released it, given he'd not had a single for a year by the time that came out.

He needs to go away now, like, seriously. His music has become unbearable and this is from someone who loved him a few years ago. It's all just watered down
versions of what has come before. He needs a break to re-focus.

Olly's been in the studio these last two weeks with Lucas Secon and Cutfather (who did 'Up' on the last album), Samuel Preston (off the Ordinary Boys, but also the co-writer of 'Heart Skips a Beat', 'On My Cloud' and 'That's Alright With Me' that was on the re-release of 'Right Place Right Time'), and Ed Drewett ('Dear Darlin' of course). No sign of work with Claude Kelly as of yet, however he has his writing trip to America lined up after the BRITs so he'll probably be hooking up with him then. Fingers crossed he and Claude come up with another stomper for the first single smile.gif

True. He needs to do a LM and take a year out to refind his sound.

I agree with Regina. A couple of Years ago his music was fantastic but recently I don't see any personality to it at All.

I havnt been a fan of his last 2 singles and his Never Been Better album is is weakest to date but i still enjoyed it. He does need to fine tune his soud again and work out exactly what sound he wants.

So this is pretty big news...Olly's still in LA writing and recording and is in the studio today with Diane Warren! This is huge!

Olly talking some more about the new album in Metro today: https://www.list.co.uk/article/80220-olly-m...e-a-lot-sexier/

He's been working with MNEK and also TMS (who did some of the stuff on 'Right Place Right Time') this last week. The former collaboration excites me immensely!

I'm the opposite. I found all Olly music dull and beige until 'Kiss Me', which is bar far his best for me. Like Jay, I'd be pleased to hear him explore this sound more.

Just noticed another 5th album thread exists (while searching for a different topic) so thought I'd let you know as it may be worth a merge:

Just some other tidbits about the album that Olly's been mentioning in interviews this last week:

- There is a total of three collaborations on this album, one of which is a definite, the other yet to be confirmed (although he hasn't mentioned names yet).
- The name of the album hasn't yet been decided, but he said he has a couple more weeks to name it and he wants it to be named after a track on the album as with his others before it.
- The recording is all done and it is being mastered shortly.
- The album has about five songs - "You Don't Know Love" included - which touch on his breakup with his girlfriend last year.
- Not related but if you look on his ASCAP songwriting database entry there's been a wealth of new additions to it lately...all of which look likely to be on the new album!

A clock went live on his website at midnight: http://www.ollymurs.com

He also said in a Facebook live chat yesterday that exciting announcements are coming in the next few days. I reckon having looked at his ASCAP database entry recently and also given he said in an interview with Nova in Australia last week that the album title has numbers in it that the title is about to be revealed as "24 Hours". Just call me Marple wink.gif

He's yet to have a good album title - they all seem like conceptually void afterthoughts. 'In Case You Didn't Know' is probably his best.
