Chart Commentary
 #1 debuts have become a rare occurrance in my chart this year, with most songs debuting low on New Music Friday and climbing high after a full 7 days. As a result, we've only had five #1 debuts all year, and this week we gain our sixth - the first since Benjamin Ingrosso's Fall in Love debuted at #1 in June. Frenship (a duo) and Emily Warren, all American, head straight to the top spot with their worldwide Spotify hit Capsize, giving them both not just their first #1, but their first ever chart hit at all. It prevents Ryan Lawrie from scoring a second week at #1, meaning that still, no song has spent more than one week at the top since Joel Adams in April (although Shawn Mendes got two weeks, they were non-consecutive).  Also debuting in this week's top 5 is Sia, with her brand new single The Greatest. The powerful song and video combination becomes her fourth top 10 hit, and second top 5 hit just behind the #4 hit Chandelier. Featured rapper Kendrick Lamar scores his second top 10 on only his second chart hit, although he has only charted as a featured artist so far. Also making her chart debut this week is Izzy Bizu, while Melanie C achieves a new personal best, going higher than the #22 peak her Matt Cardle collaboration managed. Lady Gaga is new at #23 with Perfect Illusion after less than 24 hours of availability when this chart was typed up, expect a huge climb next week! |

The highlight for me is the new entry by Izzy Bizu, I'd like to see her break into the charts with White Tiger.
