I think Alaska's wins have mostly been deserved as well, though the comedy challenge she really did to minimal and got away with it, and last week's runway look was unacceptable and the worst of the week, which confused me.
But Alaska's ambition to win really is her downfall, it almost broke her and Sharon up, because she was so jealous she had not gotten on the show, and when Jinkx won, Alaska was finding it very difficult to be happy for her, whereas Roxxy managed! It all came out in this episode, she is just desperate. She doesn't need to be, because she would easily have won this, but bribing the contestants could be her downfall. |

At this point I think any win would be questionable. Should Katya really win when she hasn't won any week outright yet? She is the only queen left not to win a lipsync so to have her win compared to Alaska who has won 3 would seem a bit strange.
This is feeling so Season 5 it's unreal. Katya will get public love due to them not wanting Rolaskatox to win and be happy that the nicest person won but then maybe question later down the line whether that win was really legitimate (seems like that happened after Season 5, with many people who may have supported Jinkx at the time claiming that Alaska should have been the winner of Season 5). I do think it's a shame Rolaskatox keeping their friends in the competition has made them somewhat disliked by the viewers because all 3 of them have improved so much since their seasons and really are all fierce queens in their own right. It's a shitty situation but they have kind of brought the backlash on themselves. |

But in terms of season 5, Jinkx was the clear winner, she was in the top for 8 consecutive weeks, and was also in the top more times than even Bianca or Sharon. Apart from some dodgy contouring and flat outfits, she was incredibly consistent and had some real wow moments. Even when she eventually had to lip sync, it went down as one of the best lip syncs of the season. Alaska wasn't ready at the time, she struggled a lot more than Jinkx throughout the weeks. I re-watched the season a couple of weeks back and it was quite clear how Jinkx won, Jinkx V Rolaskatox aside. |

I'm in agreement with that. I much prefered Jinkx myself over Alaska and still do. I was merely commenting on what a lot of people said a few years down the line when Alaska's music etc. was taking off and she did seem to be more successful than Jinkx. It did seem like a lot of fans changed to the 'Alaska was robbed' mode.

Well that was a fantastic episode without seeming too forced in terms of drama.. we got some regardless.
I loved seeing the families come in - Katya's Mum was incredible and Roxxxy's 'Mum' so funny, and the other relationships lovely also. It was a tough one to call.. the top two were absolutely the right top two - both excelled (perhaps not so much in the vogue for Katya but I didn't deem that as the main challenge so much) - as Michelle said, the storyline on their family piece was just excellent and Katya's Mum was Emmy worthy! The other three is where it gets tough - as Detox alluded to, it was so easy to make a case for any of them to go. - Roxxxy's is probably the easiest, bottom 5 times out of 7 - Alaska was quite clearly the bottom of the week, which they had agreed was the original criteria - Alyssa hasn't been there the entire time (the reason for sending Tati home last week) and was not amongst the strongest For me? I'm at peace with what happened. Though I found Alaska's behaviour horrid, and I wouldn't have been gutted to see her go, she has been slaying most of the time thus far and I do think she deserves the final. But let me say again, worse behaviour than anyone else this series right there. Alyssa for me has been mediocre since she returned, and is probably the one I would have sent home too. Her sister looked great but I didn't enjoy her afro look at all. Roxxxy was actually the one I was rooting for most (of the three) - I thought she had the hardest job (not so hard to do a family resemblance on a sibling a similar age to you as a grandma, imo) and in my opinion she finished middle of the pack. She certainly stepped up from the previous weeks and I don't think stepping up should be rewarded with being sent home, especially when others were taking sidewards or backwards steps. I think it's perfectly legit to think Roxxxy has outstayed her welcome but a) it's not her fault that her friends keep saving her, last week she was at peace with leaving and genuinely shocked to stay - I think her attitude this time has been stellar and b) like her, I felt she was unlucky to be labelled 'bottom' this week. I really can see a Season 5 scenario playing out, with Rolaskatox finishing second, third and fourth. Katya is definitely coming across the best, I don't know how it works from here but if it does get whittled down I hope Detox is left with a chance of the crown as I have grown to love her so much, I really didn't rate her in her series and I think she's been excellent. So I just watched today's episode.
I am also in the never quite got Alaska club. She's good but not as good as everyone makes out. People seem to find it hilarious just because she uses the word Anus. Omg so hilarious... NOT. I think her awful outfit and wig choice for the final and her general attitude the ROLASKATOX was the greatest thing also counted to her losing although Jinkx for me is still the better queen. Is Roxxxy's time up? Very much so but she should have been safe this week, although other than Alaska no one else really deserved to be in the bottom. Everyone else was really good. Alaska's workroom breakdown was not pretty. I will give you $10,000 if you save me. Erm what? That was uncomfortable to watch. Alyssa so gracious in defeat, she will (hopefully) be remembered as the shinning light of the season. Amazing queen. Detox, well I find it hard to disagree with her elimination, on the basis of the challenge Roxxxy should have been safe, despite bottoming basically every week. Alaska has done so well, it would look so bad on her to eliminate her, however after her workroom breakdown I think it would have gone down better than Tatianna's elimination last week. Katya to Jinkx this please! Katya 1st Detox 2nd then the other two. |

Yeah, definitely Alaska ruined her repertoire in last 2 episodes. First for saving Roxxyy because she lend her a shirt and now desperately wanting the crown and offer 10k for saving her.
If I was one of the queens I would send her home the first chance I would get...eliminating her would ease my path to the crown, and I don't know how Detox and others don't see it that way...ok I am having Phi Phi bitterness right now lol. Roxxyy is just so lame and sneaking into final episode after episode is a real BS!!! First we lost Tatianna becuase of Rolaskatox and now we lose Alyssa?!!...not fair at all. with that being said #teamkatya and #teamdetox if I have to choose one of Rolaskatox. Just watched it now, was a bottom 3 REALLY necessary?!? Why not have Alyssa safe (since her critique was very good) and have a bottom 2 of Roxxxy and Alaska.
 And Roxxxy's grandma looked EXACTLY the same as her Army guy transformation in season 5.  Don't get me started on Alaska. I really like her but for an adult that was just embarrassing. #TeamKatya |

I've been behind Alaska this whole season, but that behaviour was appalling.
It's also a disgrace that Alyssa has been sent packing twice, while Roxxy is saved by her besties every week. She deserved top 3. As much as I think Alaska is incredible when she's not acting like an utter brat, I'm absolutely here for a Katya win now. However, it'll never happen. Alaska has been slaying this season and there's no way they could justify anyone else winning when she's already won so many individual weeks. |

Talent wise you can't argue with Alaska winning, pretty much everything she's done has been flawless bar this week. But for me, they've made such a thing of using the judges critiques to inform who goes, and Alaska should have gone home under that (although I guess before the final they're going to take into account who's done the most to get there so I can see it). I wouldn't mind if not for the despicable behaviour, she'd have stayed regardless because of bloody Rolaskatox. It's a shame because Detox has really come into her own this season and emerged as someone I really like which is such a turnaround from season 5, but this little clique has ruined so much of the season with the wrong people going home because Alaska and Detox have won so many challenges between them. For me the final 4 should be Alyssa, Katya, Detox and Alaska ignoring her behaviour
I wouldn't be mad with a Detox win but it has to be Katya as it'll blatantly be Alaska vs. Katya. Like I said above, talent wise Alaska trumps them all but the behaviour for me is so off putting and shows her as undeserving in other ways. Plus I totally agree Katya has been as consistent, pretty much, the time she slipped into the bottom I thought was really unfair, especially looking back, given what she did with a character that felt quite limited compared to the others. She hasn't been given enough credit by the judges this season, as I haven't really felt disappointed at all by anything she's done all series. Best of all she ties all that up by being hilarious and so likeable, so is fully deserving to win in that respect too. |
