Wow that's pretty awful for Emeli, especially as Olly has hardly had the most successful eras either. She really is doing a Duffy .

"24 HRS" has shifted 25k so far and it currently leads for number 1. Emeli Sande is at #2 with 18k. (SOURCE: Daily Star Sunday) Surprised to see Olly leading by 7k, looks like we have another hard to call week in the Album chart but based on that lead Olly might just do it. In fairness to him he is someone who gets out and works hard with his Promotion (and this may just make the difference). Not sure why we need to wait until December 23rd for some interest, there is plenty going on between now and then. |

He has got X Factor and Xtra Factor tonight obviously, and also Children in Need Rocks this coming week, and signings at HMV in Cardiff and Manchester. I know Emeli is at HMV Oxford Street tomorrow but don't know what else she's on. |

Listening to Capital in the car this morning for 15 minutes heard Apple Music Advert twice with Emeli Sande advertising her Album as well as an "Exclusive" Live EP (4 tracks from the Album recorded Live from London Bridge).
If this is being played throughout the week she should maintain steady Sales. |

If I have to say it shortly i would say NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNTIL CHRISTMAS. STAGNATION. SO NO POINT EVEN TO CHECK THE CHARTS, SEE YOU ON DECEMBER 23th You would not find here more than I said more or less I'll make a bet that there'll be at least 8 songs climb into the top ten between now and December 23rd with you if you're so sure it'll be stagnant :,) |

If they're letting Olly perform tonight instead of Emeli, that means they're trying to fix the chart to get him the #1 album

If Olly Murs is ahead of Sande he must be selling a lot of physical copies in the Supermarkets etc, I think she's ahead of him on both Amazon and ITunes

Disappointed Sande isn't no1 but not totally surprised. Murs seems to be able to chuck out any rubbish and still make no1 but looking at those midweek sales, they will be well down on his previous first week figures showing a further decline.

If they're letting Olly perform tonight instead of Emeli, that means they're trying to fix the chart to get him the #1 album and why wouldn't they? It's in The X Factor's best interests for Olly to have the #1 album. Emeli got to perform last week anyway, but it seemed to have very little impact on the song as it missed the top 100. |

But 23rd chart does not count as there will be more than 8 new songs on that day itself This post has been edited by ankietarrr: 13th November 2016, 03:08 PM |

I'm shocked Emeli isn't comfortably #1 and this really is looking like a Duffy-esque second era slump for her. Wow.

In all fairness to Duffy tho, she wasn't getting Radio 1 support or XF promo slots. She'd also had an atrocious coke advert and a divisive lead single that people tended to hate.
I'm not sure what Emeli is supposed to have going against her but then I've not really listened to her material. |

I'm shocked Emeli isn't comfortably #1 and this really is looking like a Duffy-esque second era slump for her. Wow. Wasn't Emeli Sande's album last album released in 2012? Sadly very few modern artists can afford to take any musical break to work on new material. There's such a turn over in the music industry that to stay relevant most artists have to stay on the promo treadmill releasing annually or plugging gaps with re-releases which sadly often stagnates any progression. Snap Olympus hadn't seen your post before I typed mine. This post has been edited by truly talented: 13th November 2016, 04:21 PM |

Emeli waited too long. And although Hurts is a great song, it doesn't have that smash potential she needed for a comeback single.

If Olly has the lead (which i am thrilled about) he should pull away further as he has promotion lined up such as the X Factor. I like both Emeli and Olly but want Olly to have the number 1. Emeli Sande needed stronger material for the comeback, hurts was ok but the follow up was an horrific choice of single and i am not in any way surprised it was a huge flop even with an X Factor performance.
Emeli looks on course to suffer second album syndrome |

Her album was the best selling album of 2012 and if it weren't for 1D, her album would have been the best selling album of 2013 too

Emeli looks on course to suffer second album syndrome "Breathing Underwater" underperformed because people forgot which song she performed on X Factor so they went out and bought "Hurts" instead |
