(Banner will be coming in the next few days!)
Hello there and welcome to the opening round of Buzzjack's movie awards 2016. Below are some categories where you are able to nominate up to 5 films in each category (unless specified in brackets, e.g. 10 for best film!), these will then be totalled up and sent through to the final round where you vote for your absolute favourites. Any film released in the UK from February 5th 2016 to December 26th 2016 (I've made a pretty definitive list below to help you out but feel free to add your own if they released in the UK between those dates, also key films are in bold if you just want to have a quick look through! The key films are either big films released or films that I 100% know have fans on Buzzjack!). This is a different range of dates to last year as films released in January 2017 are INELIGIBLE and will be involved in next years awards. So please don't vote for any films that come out in January 2017 in the UK- even if it has already came out in other countries! Due to January films not counting this year, this also gives us more flexibility with dates so there will be 3 weeks for voting this year after the nominees are revealed! Due to this, I will try & host some FilmClub sessions for films nominated! The deadline for submitting nominations is the 1st February 23:59PM, but please try sending your nominations as soon as you can as this would make it a lot easier for this! The razzies will be going up soon & please PM your nominations to me, thank you! Though in this thread, you can & we encourage you to MAKE FYC Posts!. FYC posts are basically For Your Consideration Posts where you post films & performances & songs etc that'd you loved throughout the year to try & encourage other people to check them out/vote for it! I'll be posting my acting FYC's in a few minutes for an example! On lead actress/supporting actress split, we thank f*ck don't seem to have any this year so no Alicia/Rooney confusion like last year! We also have 5 new categories this year! BEST FILM (up to 10 nominations) BEST MALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE LEAD PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST FEMALE SUPPORTING PERFORMANCE (up to 5 nominations) BEST DIRECTOR (up to 5 nominations) BEST MALE OR FEMALE NEWCOMER (up to 5 nominations) BEST ENSEMBLE (up to 5 nominations) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTOR 2016 (up to 5 nominations) MOST ATTRACTIVE ACTRESS 2016 (up to 5 nominations) BEST ANIMATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: MALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST VOICE PERFORMANCE: FEMALE (up to 5 nominations) BEST ACTION FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST COMEDY FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST HORROR FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST DRAMA FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCI-FI/THRILLER FILM (up to 5 nominations) BEST SONG (up to 5 nominations) BEST SOUNDTRACK (up to 5 nominations) BEST CHARACTER (up to 5 nominations) BEST HERO (up to 5 nominations) BEST MOVIE COUPLE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCENE IN A MOVIE (up to 5 nominations) BEST SCRIPT (up to 5 nominations) BEST ADAPTATION OF A SOURCE MATERIAL (up to 5 nominations) BEST VISUAL EFFECTS (up to 5 nominations) MOST UNDERRATED FILM (up to 5 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE SUPRISE (up to 5 nominations) BIGGEST BOX OFFICE DISASTER[/b] (up to 5 nominations) ELIGIBLE FILMS: Key films in bold! 10 Cloverfield Lane 13th 31 A Bigger Splash A Hologram To The King A Street Cat Named Bob A United Kingdom Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie Alice Through The Looking Glass Allegiant Allied Almost Christmas American Honey American Pastoral Angry Birds Movie Anthropoid Alvin & The Chipmunks: Road Chip Anomalisa Arrival Bad Moms Bad Neighbors 2 Bad Santa 2 Ballerina Barbershop 3: A Fresh Cut Bastille Day Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice Ben-Hur Birth Of A Nation Blair Witch Bleed For This Blinky Bill: The Movie Blood Father Bone Tomahawk Born To Be Blue Bridget Jones’s Baby Brotherhood Café Society Captain America: Civil War Captain Fantastic Central Intelligence Chronic Collateral Beauty Concussion Criminal Dad's Army David Brent: Life On The Road Deadpool Deepwater Horizon Demolition Doctor Strange Don’t Breathe Eddie The Eagle Elvis & Nixon Embrace Of The Serpent Everybody Wants Some Eye In The Sky Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them Fifty Shades Of Black Finding Dory Florence Foster Jenkins Free State Of Jones Freeheld Friend Request Ghostbusters Gods Of Egypt Gods Not Dead 2 Goosebumps Green Room Grimsby Hail, Caesar Hardcore Henry Hell Or High Water High-Rise How To Be Single Hunt For The Wilderpeople I'll See You In My Dreams I, Daniel Blake I Saw The Light Ice Age: Collison Course Imperium Indignation Inferno Ingrid Bergman: In Her Own Words Independence Day: Resurgence Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Jane Got A Gun Jason Bourne Jem & The Holograms Julieta Keanu Keeping Up With The Joneses Kids In Love Knights Of Cups Krisha Kubo & The Two Strings Kung Fu Panda 3 Learning To Drive Let’s Be Evil Lights Out Little Men London Has Fallen Long Way Home Louder Than Bombs Love & Friendship Maggie's Plan Me Before You Mechanic: Resurrection Midnight Special Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates Miles Ahead Miracles From Heaven Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children Moana Money Monster Monster Trucks Morgan Mother’s Day Mustang My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 My Scientology Movie Nerve Nine Lives Nocturnal Animals Norm Of The North Now You See Me 2 Oddball And The Penguins Office Christmas Party Ouija: Origin Of Evil Our Kind Of Traitor Passengers Paterson Pete’s Dragon Point Break Popstar: Never Stop, Never Stopping Pride And Prejudice And Zombies Queen Of Katwe Race Ratchet & Clank Risen Robinson Crusoe Rock The Kasbah Sausage Party Secret In Their Eyes Sing Street Snowden Son Of Saul Star Trek Beyond Star Wars: A Rogue One Story Storks Supersonic Swallows & Amazons Swiss Army Man Suicide Squad Sully Tale Of Tales Tallulah Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 The Accountant The Beatles: 8 Days A Week- The Touring Years The BFG The Boss The Boy The Choice The Colony The Conjuring 2 The Darkness The Eagle Huntress The Edge Of Seventeen The Finest Hours The Forest The Girl On The Train The Girl With All The Gifts The Greasy Strangler The Green Inferno The Huntsman's Winters War The Infiltrator The Jungle Book The Keeping Room The Legend Of Tarzan The Light Between Oceans The Magnificent Seven The Man Who Knew Infinity The Meddler The Neon Demon The Nice Guys The 9th Life Of Louis Drax The Other Side Of The Door The Purge: Election Year The Secret Life Of Pets The Shallows The Siege Of Jadotville The Stanford Prison Experiment The Witch Things To Come Top Cat Begins Train To Busan Triple 9 Trolls Trumbo Truth Warcraft War Dogs War On Everyone Weiner Welcome To Me When Marnie Was There Why Him? Two more quickies!
Would anyone be interested in a prediction thread & also a thread where I go through some of the categories & make predictions? (Before I count up obviously!) NUMBER TWO: Here's something to help you maybe decide to watch some films or remind you of Buzzjack's faves Buzzjack's Top 20 Films Of 2016 (as decided by Buzzjack Rotten Tomatoes)! (Only 2 films from Sept- Dec pop up here as films are too recent to have enough ratings!) (And ties have been split here with no rounded numbers!) 1. Zootropolis 2. Deadpool 3. Finding Dory 4. Captain America: Civil War 5. Money Monster 6. 10 Cloverfield Lane 7. X-Men: Apocalypse 8. Kung Fu Panda 3 9. The BFG 10. The Jungle Book 11. The Nice Guys 12. Eddie The Eagle 13. Suicide Squad 14. Bad Moms 15. The Secret Life Of Pets 16. Hail, Caesar! 17. Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them 18. Dirty Grandpa (!!!!!!!!!) 19. Bad Neighbors 2 20. Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie |

Yeah! Any of them you need me to change? (you're not expecting them to be in that genre for example/don't classify certain actors as supporting or leads etc..)

I shall get my nominations in at some point this month. Not sure whether I've seen enough films in 2016 to warrant nominating much, but I shall see what I can do.

Also, if anyone else fancies nominating Your Name in Best Animated Film category, my happiness levels will increase by approximately 7.5 Coming Up's.

Wait so where is the voting This is the part where you nominate your favourites of the year (using the categories in the opening post!) and the voting is the next round after the nominees have been decided! Thanks John & Brett! I really need to check out Your Name but haven't had a chance to yet! (And some people vote by PM please! Hoping to have some in here to encourage others of good films/performances and some by PM to increase mystery about who's getting nominated!) |

The lack of last January and this January makes this really difficult. Yeah this year is definitely going to be the hardest year due to the date change taking effect this year! Though on the other hand it could result in some really interesting nominations! Plz still vote! <3 |
