I love it, a real feelgood song that should have done better.

I didn't take too much notice of this on the album but I grew to love it quickly when it got its single push, especially as the Prismatic tour was around this time and that gave it a push in the right direction! Definitely one of her more underrated singles.

The best thing about this is the Prismatic tour perfomance!

I initially found this to be one of the weakest tracks on Prism but it massively grew on me after its single release and now it's one of my favourite singles by her. The video is still kinda diabolical and I hate how it ruins the best parts of the song (like the 'OHHHHHHHH BABY, MAKE IT LIKE YOUR BIRTHDAY EVERY DAY' bit) but the lyric video is still cute so I just watch that if I want to. As others have said, it was one of the highlights of the Prismatic tour too with the big cake coming out of the stage, my favourites on tour were this, E.T. and Dark Horse

I honestly don't get all the hate for this, okay it's not one of her finest hits, but it certainly not one of her worst either. Upon the album's release I thought this was definitely one of the standout moments on there and yeah of course I knew it was gonna be a single. Although I do think that it came rather soon and following on from 'DH' wasn't always going to be an easy feat. 'Walking On Air' should have followed that, and then release this as the 5th single and then we could have had a 6th single release from the album.
The song itself is pretty fun and harmless with a catchy beat. But in my honest opinion I thought the music video was well and truly awful, I did get the concept and point of it, but for me it just didn't work at all and none of Katy's characters in the video were funny at all and just fell totally flat and ruined the song's chances of success as I don't recall seeing much airplay for this at all, especially compared to the other singles from the album. If the song had a better video then it might have stood a better chance. I always imagined a Marie Antoinette styled video with corsets, eating cake, causing a stir and basically having fun. Well that's just my thought. |

I don't hate this, it's a nice little bop, but I think it's my least fave of her singles.
