    Chart Commentary
A big thank you to all those 9 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including M4NGO, Sven10, danG, PeteFromLeeds, BridgeCow, Jason, toffonews, Dobbo and JosephStyles🐶. biggrin.gif

May 22nd 2017 at the end of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, 22 people, including children, were killed and many others injured in a horrible terrorist attack. The news received global attention and many tributes have been made to support the families of the victims. The majority of the UK this week got behind the Ariana track One Last Time to try and get it to #1 as a fitting tribute to everyone affected. This week it is my personal #1 as I look to pay my respects too.

Despacito climbs 7 places this week to #2. Justin Bieber's influence helped to raise attention to this track, and by extension Spanish music as a genre. Perhaps we will be seeing other hits like this become mainstream soon with the right promotion. Jonas Blue climb into the Top 10 this week, and so do French Montana. Steps begin to slip a few places to #8. Maggie Lindemann is a non-mover this week. Another new Top 10 entry this week comes from Bebe Rexha whose previously featured on this chart with In The Name Of Love and I Got You.

Elsewhere there are new entries from Camila Cabello, JP Cooper, OneRepublic, Emily Warren and Katy Perry. This week's biggest climber is Dua Lipa feat. Miguel who is up 8 places to #15. The biggest faller is No More Sad Songs by Little Mix which falls 12 places to #32.

Any comments made this week will be replied to in next week's chart. Please continue to show your support and I thank you for checking out my personal chart this week! biggrin.gif

Hey awardinary!

arrow right.gif 1. Lady Gaga – The Cure [1-2-3-1-1] (5 weeks, 3 at #1) I quite liked this for a couple of weeks but I've found I've bored of it quite quickly unsure.gif
arrow up.gif 2. AJR feat. Louisa Johnson – Weak [Stay Strong Mix] [7-5-2] (3 weeks) Still love this!
arrow right.gif 3. Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson – Symphony [8-1-1-1-2-3-2-3-3] (9 weeks, 3 at #1)
arrow down.gif 4. Steps – Scared Of The Dark [5-7-11-4-3-3-1-1-2-4] (10 weeks, 2 at #1)
ne.gif 5. Zara Larsson – Don't Let Me Be Yours [5] (1 week) She has such potential but her singles seem to be getting progressively weaker! Let's hope she comes back with something huge next era!
arrow up.gif 7. Cheat Codes feat. Demi Lovato – No Promises [13-8-9-10-7] (5 weeks)
arrow down.gif 8. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber – Despacito [Remix] [7-8] (2 weeks)
arrow down.gif 10. Jason Derulo feat. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign – Swalla [26-30-40-21-12-7-5-5-4-6-10] (11 weeks)

arrow down.gif 21. Kygo & Ellie Goulding – First Time [25-19-21] (3 weeks)
ne.gif 22. Calvin Harris feat. Khalid & Future – Rollin' [22] (1 week) I'm not really a big fan of chilled out R&B Calvin, bring back the bangers. Heatstroke was the best of the three so far.
arrow up.gif 23. Dua Lipa feat. Miguel – Lost In Your Light [34-28-23] (3 weeks)
arrow down.gif 25. Sigrid – Don't Kill My Vibe [15-10-16-15-21-25] (6 weeks)
arrow down.gif 26. Paramore – Hard Times [38-9-12-18-26] (5 weeks)
ne.gif 27. Miley Cyrus – Malibu [27] (1 week) Good on her for coming back with something a bit different. It's a nice enough song I guess but not amazing!
arrow down.gif 28. Charlie Puth – Attention [39-18-23-28] (4 weeks)
arrow down.gif 29. Fall Out Boy – Young And Menace [13-25-29] (3 weeks)
ne.gif 30. Katy Perry feat. Migos – Bon Appιtit [30] (1 week) Catchy and cringeworthy in equal amounts laugh.gif
arrow down.gif 31. Shawn Mendes – There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back [22-19-26-31] (4 weeks)
arrow down.gif 35. The Chainsmokers & Coldplay – Something Just Like This [12-4-2-2-1-2-7-11-15-17-26-32-35] (13 weeks, 1 at #1)
ne.gif 36. Felix Jaehn feat. Hight & Alex Aiono – Hot2Touch [36] (1 week) Really like this, wish it could become a hit but it won't!

Excellent chart dance.gif
Hi M4NGO,

I hope I don't get bored of Lady Gaga's single, it might have dropped a few places this week but I still think it sounds great. smile.gif

Glad you still love Weak, it's a great song!

I'd definitely agree with the comment about Heatstroke being Calvin's best song of this era, it's the one I most like anyway. smile.gif

Thanks for commenting.

Hi Awa,

Lady gaga still at no 1 w00t.gif

Great new entries, all 7 cheer.gif
My favorite new entry : Hardwell & Austin Mahone wub.gif

Both Bieber songs already down no.gif
Hey Sven,

I know you are a hard man to please, so forgive some of my choices this week please!

The Cure has fallen off the top, but it did manage 3 week's at #1. smile.gif

Hardwell is out after just a week unfortunately. sad.gif

But, as you would have seen, Justin Bieber is up to #2 this week. yahoo.gif

Thanks for commenting.

hi Wardy!

have you heard the Cheat Codes remix of 'Weak' yet? prefer it to the original myself.
good to see Zara Larsson in your top five but I wish her next single was 'TG4M'.
'Pretty Girl' is quite a tune too. That's starting to climb my chart.
Loving 'Rollin' music.gif Can't wait for Calvin's album w00t.gif
'Malibu' is just okay, not really a fan of it myself.
'Bon Appetit' is quite a letdown from CTTR imo, her newer one sounds better.

great chart!
Hi Dan,

I haven't listened to the Cheat Codes remix, but I'm aware it's there, but I love the mix that I've charted already. tongue.gif

I hope Zara Larsson released one final single around August time, and TG4M would be my choice of single too. After all, there's already a video for it.

I think Malibu was charted because of the name, but it's very quickly lost appeal.

Thanks for the comment.

Hi Wardy!

Nice choice of #1 again biggrin.gif

Great to see Pretty Girl enter so high! I tink it could go #1 officially if people move away from Despacito quickly enough!

Nice to see Hot2Touch enter as well! I think I need to give it a few more listens to make a proper judgement of it though!

Great chart biggrin.gif
Hey Pete,

Glad you approve of my #1. biggrin.gif

Pretty Girl has remained #9 for a second week. ohmy.gif

Hot2Touch is alright, it's climbed a little this week too! smile.gif

Thanks for commenting.
QUOTE(BridgeCow @ May 21 2017, 07:52 PM) *
Hi!

Great to see high new entries for Zara Larsson and Maggie Lindeman, they are both absolute tunes!
Hot2Touch and Creatures of the Night are decent new entires too, but both of the singles are kind of dissapointing for me.
Shame to see Rollin' kinda low sad.gif it's such a bop

Nice Chart!
Hi Bridgecow,

Glad you like both the Zara and Maggie tunes. smile.gif

That's a shame you're not a fan of Hot2Touch, it's the one I prefer of the 2.

Rollin' isn't having the same effect as Slide and Heatstroke had on me. sad.gif

Thanks for commenting.

Hi award

I'm not yet bored of The Cure. It's Lady Gaga's best in a while. tongue.gif
AJR feat. Louisa Johnson almost at number 1 here. It's a total flop in the real charts though.
Ops, I need to hear that new Zara song. ohmy.gif
'MileyBu' (kink.gif) and Pretty Girl are my fave new entries yahoo.gif

Good chart! biggrin.gif
Hey Jason,

I'm glad you're not bored of The Cure, I'm not either. biggrin.gif

Weak is really addictive right now, I'm loving it. dance.gif

Check out Zara's single, it's alright actually. smile.gif

Thanks for your comment.

Hi Awardinary!

I think I heard that Zara song last week, sounded good - is that being pushed as the next single?

Rollin' sounds great in the warm weather!

Not such a fan of your other new entries unfortunately but some great runs for Solo Dance & Stay here smile.gif
Hi Dobbo,

As far as I can tell yes that song is being pushed as the next Zara single. smile.gif

Unfortunately both Solo Dance and Stay have dropped out of my chart this week.

Thanks for your comment.

Hi Andrew biggrin.gif

Great to see Gaga at #1 still, what a great track, totally back on form after I wasn't so keen on the Joanne era!

Loving the new entries for Zara, Katy, Maggie and Miley biggrin.gif and Cheat Codes continuing their run of hits here heart.gif

Superb chart biggrin.gif
Hey Joseph,

I'm glad you're a fan of The Cure, I hope we get more singles like this from her in the future.

Glad you liked the new entries for last week, and hopefully you'll approve of this week's too! biggrin.gif

Thanks for your comment.

Amazing new number 1. It's Ariana's best yet. dance.gif
Despacito at number 2. yahoo.gif
Crying in the Club is so good. I hope Camila is UK top 40 next Friday.
Also lovin' Swish Swish. It's Katy's best in her last 3 releases imo.

A fitting tribute at #1 sad.gif My thoughts and prayers are still with the victims.

Hey Award,

I'm enjoying most of your top 10 biggrin.gif

Great to see so many new entries, hopefully they'll all climb in the weeks to come!

Was quite amusing to see Hardwell's latest flop enter so low and then drop out the week after, he just can't get it right anymore. Needs to go back to his old sound in my opinion.

Great chart as usual, I thought I commented last week but it turns out I must have forgot laugh.gif

Hi AW,

great to see Camila, Katy new in both are on my CD playlist smile.gif

Nice to see Ariana on top too, one I bought a couple of years back, hoping everything goes well for her and her popstar mates on sunday. She's going to be emotional I think.

lots to love in your chart!

cheers
john
