I'm going to be kicking this off tomorrow now that I have my list finalised. I feel like my #50 is going to get a bit of a wtf reaction laugh.gif

By the way, this is only going to be characters from the movies and not the TV shows!

Ok, so this is basically just the 'Jedi Nobodies' section which are characters that pretty much have nothing to do but really cool character design which is made 10x cooler by the fact they wield a lightsaber w00t.gif

50. Coleman Trebor
- So, the first jedi nobody to drop out is Coleman Trebor. He doesn't really get much of a time to shine in the movies but I've always thought he had one of the coolest character designs in the Star Wars universe (he basically looks like a dinosaur so that's probably why). However, he gets bonus points for being the one brave enough (and stupid enough) to try to tackle Count Dooku himself during the Battle of Geonosis even though it did mean he ended up being shot dead within seconds by Jango Fett. Fun fact: Trebor is just Robert backwards because the character was named after a guy called Rob Coleman who was an effects supervisor for the prequel films.

49. Luminara Unduli
- Another Jedi who pretty much has nothing to do so it's hard to place her very highly either but she has awesome character design too (she's the one on the right by the way, the one on the left is Shaak Ti who is still yet to come!) and also wields a green lightsaber which is obviously the best colour to have. She ranks slightly higher because she was a playable character in the Lego Star Wars games that I used to play as a child and I often played as her if I wanted to switch it up a bit because she looked so cool.

48. Plo Koon
- Another random Jedi character but he places slightly higher because he can fly ships really well too (as well as being a playable character on Lego Star Wars which always helps if you want to be placed highly in my rankings, of course heehee.gif). I also have fond memories of calling him 'turkey man' a child because his face does look a bit like a plucked turkey wearing a gas mask laugh.gif

47. Saesee Tiin
- Saesee Tiin is this guy if you weren't able to pick him out from the gif by the way. He is one of the Jedis who went with Mace Windu to arrest Palpatine and ended up being slaughtered in mere seconds as they obviously didn't know quite what they were up against at the time. Before he was brutally murdered, he was a Jedi Master who sat on the Jedi High Council so career goals basically!!1

46. Bib Fortuna
- This is the first character from the original trilogy to drop out in my countdown. He was basically just Jabba the Hut's right hand man who ranked as one of the people highest up there. He basically looks like the stuff of nightmares with red eyes, a bulging forehead, pointy teeth and a giant snake-like thing protruding from the top of his head and wrapping around his neck - all things that make him one of the coolest looking Star Wars characters even if he doesn't have much to do in the films.

45. Admiral Ackbar
- Admiral Ackbar is now almost iconic for his line "it's a trap!" and that's basically the sole reason he places here. He doesn't have a big role in the franchise but is always a fun side character - it was nice to see him pop up again in The Force Awakens.

44. Boba Fett
- Boba Fett is, perhaps, the most over-rated character in film history for me. Often appearing in the top FIVE of rankings like this is completely hyperbolic in my opinion. He pretty much has nothing to do in the films apart from look a bit badass but even Jango Fett had a better action scene in the prequels so even he's still yet to come in this countdown. I just don't get why people love Boba so much when he is far from the coolest looking character in Star Wars and doesn't do much else anyway.

43. Orson Krennic
- Orson Krennic is another of the more style over substance characters, he looks like a very menacing villain but in reality, he is massively overshadowed by how badass Darth Vader in Rogue One is and ends up being a bit forgettable to be honest. However, I did quite enjoy the scene where he visits Galen Erso at his home at the beginning of the film when Jyn is running away, he was pretty threatening there.

42. Lando Calrissian
- Not going to lie, I'm quite a fan of the prequels as they defined my childhood due to being so young at the time and watching them as a child. I know most people have that connection with the Original trilogy but I obviously didn't discover them until a lot later so I feel like some of those characters may suffer a bit here. Lando is a fun character but basically a rip-off of Han Solo with less memorable one liners or scenes so it's hard to place him that high here in my rankings. I'm sure I'll appreciate him much more in the upcoming Han Solo movie where he will be played by Donald Glover!

41. Aayla Secura
- Another of the random Jedi characters here but she places ever so slightly here due to featuring in the films a little more. She has one of the sadder Order 66 deaths where she turns around to see her clone soldiers pointing guns right at her before she is shot multiple times sad.gif She also has really cool character design and I do wish other Jedis got a bit more time to shine in the films to be honest, they looked SO cool !!

Lol @ how no1 curr, the Potter one was on Page 2 at this stage !! laugh.gif

40. Lama Su
- We get to meet Lama Su (and his aide, Taun We) briefly in Attack of the Clones when Obi-Wan travels to Kamino to investigate the creation of the clone army. Lama Su is a Kaminoan who served as the Prime Minister of his home planet and is key to Obi-Wan discovering the secret. I like the way the Kaminoans speak and look so thought one of them deserved a placing here so here one is.

39. Greedo
- Greedo earns his placing pretty much due to the iconic 'who shot first?' scene alone. He was a bounty hunter most famous for meeting Han Solo in a cantina and not making it out alive. He obviously doesn't ever appear in the franchise again but props to him for having the guts to try and finish off Han, even if it didn't work out so well for him.

38. Watto
- Watto is a bit of a bad guy but yet another minor character that definitely leaves his mark on the characters. He is a junk dealer who actually owns young Anakin Skywalker and his mother as slaves on Tatooine. His trademark snout and grouchy voice make him a fun side character even if he is a bit nasty.

37. Sebulba
- Sebulba is quite a minor character in The Phantom Menace but one that certainly makes impression. He is one of the the finest Podracers around but often wins via immoral means by installing a lot of illegal weapons to his own Podracer. It was nice to see him get his comeuppance for his behaviour when he lost to young Anakin Skywaler in the podrace that ensured the latter's freedom from slavery.

36. Jyn Erso
- Jyn is the first major Star Wars character to drop out here and it's mainly because she's played by Felicity Jones who I have a bit of an irrational hatred for as an actress. I just feel like she's massively lacking in any charisma at all which make her characters boring and difficult to watch on-screen. I far preferred a lot of the other crew members in Rogue One, a couple of which are still yet to come!

I agree Boba is pretty overrated based on what you see in the films, but my love for him actually stems from the expanded universe material.

Ahh, where else does he feature prominently? I only really sometimes watched Clone Wars and never got into Rebels at all :/

Is he in any of the books/comics much? ohmy.gif

Comics is probably your best bet. The one standing out to me now is one called Enemy of the Empire which has pretty good Darth Vader stuff too. Read it when I was 11, loved it.

He features prominently in some novels-he's the only good bit in some of Karen Traviss' novels but her books are quite awful to read due to her bias against Jedi.

Ahhh! Yeah, I really haven't explored as much of the Star Wars written universe as I would have liked to. I might have to check out the library and see what they have in the run up to Episode 8 as I am beginning to get properly hyped now w00t.gif

35. Shaak Ti
- Shaak Ti was a Jedi Master who also was a part of the Jedi Council but sadly, her role was cut quite short in the movies even though she does appear briefly. She is mainly this high because she has a cool death scene in Episode 3 which was unfortunately cut from the final film. She also has really cool character design and was a playable character on Lego Star Wars, hence her making it so high here heehee.gif

34. Jango Fett
- I mentioned earlier in my commentary for Boba Fett that both of these characters are pretty over-rated but at least Jango has a couple of good action scenes which makes him a bit more exciting as a character. I've always loved his showdown with Obi-Wan on Kamino in Episode 2 and then him flying off laugh.gif

33. Kit Fisto
- Another random Jedi but there aren't many left now before we get into the really well known classic characters. Kit Fisto is yet another cool dude with cool character design and another person that I enjoyed playing as on Lego Star Wars as a child. I've always liked him for putting on a big grin in the middle of a giant battle, showcased in the gif above laugh.gif

32. Wicket
- Wicket is probably one of the cutest characters in the Star Wars movies and probably one of my favourite characters as a child due to how adorable he is. He plays a big role in the Battle of Endor where the Galactic Empire are eventually defeated so he fights for the good guys too which is always nice. He was also played by Warwick Davis so that wins him extra bonus points too wub.gif

31. Grand Moff Tarkin
- Tarkin is this high due to being excellently acted by the late Peter Cushing. The stone cold face is enough make the hairs stand up on anybody and it means his scenes are some of the most menacing in the Star Wars universe. It was also amazing to see Cushing be brought back to life on film in Rogue One using the power of CGI, it was almost completely unnoticeable and he looked surprisingly real. Hopefully that opens a lot more doors in the future with what can be done using CGI *-*

Brilliant countdown so far! Shaak Ti's scene was deleted as she crops up in a spin off game set between III and IV, the force unleashed I think and is killed then. I used to love Kit Fisto, Luminara and Plo Koon as well as Aayla Secura, they have such good background stories on Wookiepedia and also enjoyed Barris Offee as Luminara's Padawan.

As a fan of Boba Fett I think much of it comes down to context. When he was first introduced in the Star Wars Holiday Special he was basically the only thing good in it. It was an appalingly horrible show with a decent cartoon section where Fett tricks and betrays our heroes and he created quite the impression.
So much so that there was considerable excitement when toys came out and he was announced as being in Empire. His appearance in that only added to the air of mystery and intrigue and much was expected of him thereafter as a key character in the 3rd film. Then Lucas decided to kill him off pathetically and rub the salt in with the special editions.

Those of us who remember Fett first appearing nearly 40 years ago tend to remember him fondly

I'd put Tarkin much higher myself too but I really hope there's a place for stormtrooper who bangs his head and the guy who says 'you rebel scum'

Ah, I guess this does make a lot of sense now. As someone who didn't grow up with the original trilogy, I've always found him cool-looking but not a lot else to him really but it does seem more acceptable put in context like this. I still prefer Jango as a character though.

Those are the best two characters in the Star Wars universe, of course! You've spoiled my top two now drama.gif

Cheers Severin biggrin.gif

Yeah, I do remember reading that's why her death was cut but I guess they could have kept it anyway because who knows what is canon and not canon with all these spin-off games, books and comics nowadays drama.gif Yesss at you stanning for the lesser known Jedi characters too, I remember spending many hours when I was younger reading about them on Wookiepedia too *-*

So, this is the moment I start losing you all and you start questioning me taste. Here comes FOUR shock evictions ! x_X

30. KYLO REN
- So Kylo Ren was really hyped up going into Star Wars and I did think he was a decent villain but perhaps a bit overrated. He was menacing at times and his lightsaber design rivals Darth Maul's for the COOLEST THING TO EVER EXIST but ultimately some of his scenes fell a bit flat. There's something about Adam Driver in general that I just dislike and in a villain role, he just looked so young and weak meaning the casting for the character ended up ruining him a bit for me. All the greatest Star Wars villains like Count Dooku, General Grievous and Vader are SCARY and you feel threatened watching them whereas it was hard not to laugh out loud when the face behind the mask of Kylo Ren was revealed in the Force Awakens.

29. REY
- Another major character from The Force Awakens drops out surprisingly low and it's just another case of finding the actress a little irritating, Daisy Ridley just doesn't come across very engaging or interesting in interviews (or on-screen for that matter) to me which dampens my enjoyment in watching her which is a bit of a shame. I'm sure this placing will increase by the end of the trilogy once I've become more used to the character but for now, it's difficult to place her all that high on limited screen-time too.

28. GALEN ERSO
- Mads Mikkelsen is a pretty great actor but I really wasn't expecting him to be one of my favourite characters coming out of seeing Rogue One but that ended up being the cast. There are only three Rogue One characters left to come so he's done pretty well here! Obviously he did a great job in secretly sabotaging the Death Star with a major flaw so that the good guys could prevail in the end cheer.gif I found his double agent style storyline pretty enthralling and therefore really enjoyed the character, more so than his daughter Jyn!

27. FINN
- Another shock drop out but another person I just find a little annoying but this is because John Boyega seems to do TOO much in real life like he's trying far too hard to be cool and likeable which can be a bit cringey to watch. He's a bit more tolerable in this role and has some pretty fun moments but is outshined massively by Poe Dameron who has buckets of charisma and therefore I just wanted to see more of the latter and his storyline in The Force Awakens to be honest.

26. ANAKIN SKYWALKER
- I've split up Anakin and Darth Vader (oops, spoiler!) for this countdown so watch out for the latter but Anakin before he was burnt to a crisp and given a cool costume places 26th in the countdown. He is now iconic for his terrible dialogue and wooden acting by Hayden Christensen in the prequels. I'm not going to pretend that some of his scenes weren't cringey to watch but he definitely had his moments of charm and cool action scenes as well as being central to the plot of the films so he deserves his spot here even if he was, at times, one of the worst things about the prequel trilogy.
