I love this! Took a few listens but I'm obsessed
I can see the album being huge in America, at least for the first week, country fans are loyal and still buy albums! And uh trust me everybody older than like 10 knows who Shania is lol the singles from Come On Over are classics! Anyway it doesn't matter they probably won't be the ones buying the album so who cares? |

They play That Don't Impress Me Much basically EVERY time I go out, and EVERYONE I'm with always go mad without fail Everyone knows who Shania is. It's more that this isn't th sort of thing that does well in the current climate but I doubt she is out for a #1 hit anyway.

The new single is a great comeback song. Looking forward to hearing more of the new tracks.

I hardly think the most successful female country singer ever is going to be an unknown to people let's get real. Songs like Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, That Don't Impress Me Much, You're Still The One and From This Moment on are classics that are well loved to this day. Those four songs are played regularly on local radio. I can't see how young people wouldn't have heard of her. |

Wow, not having checked for her in a while this seems to have come out of nowhere! She will always have the name recognition and her album will debut at #1 regardless but I don't expect the single to do anything, despite it being a good song. I hope to be proven wrong though.

Her voice is completely different to her last lead single "I'm gonna getcha good".
Needs a few listen for the song to sink in, sounds good though. |

Her new single is slightly too Radio 2 friendly but quite the bop at the same time. Great to hear her on new music again.
Personal Top 10 out of her charting singles (in the UK): 01. Man! I Feel Like a Woman! 02. That Don't Impress Me Much 03. Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You) 04. You're Still the One 05. I'm Gonna Getcha Good! 06. Up! 07. When 08. Ka-Ching! 09. From This Moment On 10. Forever and For Always |

'Don't Be Stupid' is a tune and a half I'll have you know! And 'From This Moment On' gets played too much at my work which has kinda lowered it in my affections.

I really like 'Don't Be Stupid'. Seems to be not good for others but has caught my attention since I was 15. Ten years after, I'd still like listening to the tune.

I don't really follow sales etc but I really didn't think there'd be such a gap between That Don't Impress Me Much & Man! I Feel Like A Woman! - the latter always feels like such a massive million-selling song?

'Poor Me' is irresistably catchy! I really like it *.*
Also agreed with re her sales, Scherz. 'You're Still the One' also feels like it's a lot bigger than 406k! It's a classic and I think if she had her name power today as she did back then, I'd be certain it was a million seller. |

I don't really follow sales etc but I really didn't think there'd be such a gap between That Don't Impress Me Much & Man! I Feel Like A Woman! - the latter always feels like such a massive million-selling song? Here are their 1999 End of Year positions and sales: 7th: That Don't Impress Me Much (763,000) 47th: Man! I Feel Like a Woman! (348,400) [It was still within the UK Top 50 singles chart by the end of the year, so it would have sold a few thousand copies in 2000] 'That Don't Impress Me Much' was released before the Come On Over album's success exploded, whereas 'Man!' was released following the album having been within the UK Top 5 albums chart for 4 months! So with that in mind, it still did incredibly well as a single & a lot of its popularity would have translated into album sales. Definitely a huge hit! |

Is it me, or does she sound like she's got a cold on 'Life's About To Get Good'?
