Dexton's Top 20 (08/08/2017) (Week #13)
And so the commentary returns after a couple of weeks absence! After Dua Lipa scored her first #1 on my chart last week with the brilliant New Rules, she's now been dethroned by Camila Cabello's new single Havana featuring Young Thug. One Republic & SeeB fall one place to #3 and Enrique Iglesias jumps up to #4 with Sean Paul & Matt Terry. This week is the first time in five weeks that the Top 5 has not had at least one appearance from The Killers as both The Man and Run For Cover fall down the chart, leaving Coldplay & Big Sean to come in at #5. Big climbs this week come from Martin Solveig's All Stars featuring Alma (10-7), Jax Jones' Instruction featuring Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don (13-9), and Arcade Fire's Everything Now (17-10). This is a new peak for both All Stars and Everything Now but not for Instruction, which peaked at #6 a few weeks ago before dropping to #13 last week. A new entry further down the chart comes from two of the biggest house names of 2014 with a 2014-sounding song that would have likely gone #1 officially in - you guessed it - 2014, but unfortunately is showing signs of just scraping into the official Top 40 this week. Duke Dumont & Gorgon City's Real Life featuring NAATIONS enters at #13 this week, and RAY BLK makes her (surprisingly) second appearance in my chart with Doing Me. Hi Dexton.
Good to se New Rules up high, it's a great pop tune and it's good to see it do so well in the charts already. Quite like the new Camila Cabello songs, I'd say Crying in the Club is still her best solo effort at the moment. Of course loving Duke City so good to see that finally make an appearance here. Hopefully it can make the official top 40 this week. cool chart~ |

I like Havana a lot more than OMG so hopefully that will end up the bigger hit. Decent track from Duke Dumont, surprised it's doing as well as it is for a sound that's not in favour right now. Not heard your third NE but have added to my playlist  Good chart! |

Havana is a million times better than OMG (and Crying in the Club in my opinion) so I'm really hoping for Top 40 To say that Real Life is very much a sound from 2-3 years ago, it's sounding really fresh aside most of the other stuff in the charts right now. I'm sorry I've not made an effort to comment on your chart in a while, but I hope that can change in the future! Wow at Camila Cabello straight in at #1 with Havana, I've entered it at #10 this week!  Brilliant seeing Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Martin Solveig all slaying here! You won't regret entering Real Life this week, that's such a banger!  Other personal highlights are Jax Jones, Arcade Fire, Yungen and DJ Khaled also.
