Four songs on a chart of how many songs? How ignorant. It's about time the UK charts were open to more languages like the rest of Europe. Its not really ignorant, its simply saying that artists are now cynically rushing to release music that sounds like Despacito because that was so big. |

I think that is a weird statement to make. Like, I can definitely understand people not liking reggaeton because that is a specific genre (and even so, ignorance can easily be noticed depending on the way people acknowledge the genre. "Spanish theme" is a cabal example of ignorance btw). But not liking Spanish/Latin music in general? Lol yea, there's definitely a "deeper agenda" in disliking music because of the language or the region it originated from. Perhaps people are misunderstanding how to identify the genre or music, but I think it's fair to assume that there's nothing more to people's comments than these songs simply not appealing to them. Their ignorance if that's what you want to refer to it as, however, does not give people the right to start getting personal. If you disagree, then educate and discuss. |

It's stupid it's taken this long for Spanish songs to do well over here really, glad it looks like they're finally able to break through properly. So many huge songs that should've done so well over here but didn't ever do anything for some reason. I will never forget how mistreated Bailando was here... Oh I had no idea. My mistake - I guess he is talented then. Oh my GOD at that trash reggaeton song getting so high. Sheeplr! They never cared abou foreign music before!!! And?? What if they care now? What's wrong with Little Mix experimenting with a new sound and style? How could they ever care about foreign music if people would react the same way as you have? It's a great song btw. |

Their ignorance if that's what you want to refer to it as, however, does not give people the right to start getting personal. If you disagree, then educate and discuss. Everyone who is disagreeing is actually educating and discussing. No one complaining about the points being made is being gratuitous, we are all actually exposing our point of views. However, no one is forced to be cordial in the face of ignorance, sorry. Its not really ignorant, its simply saying that artists are now cynically rushing to release music that sounds like Despacito because that was so big. That is literally how top 40 pop works though. That is the whole point of those acts: to release music that is in synch with what is popular. I agree it can be annoying but it's hardly something that Little Mix started doing today. I will never forget how mistreated Bailando was here... people will look back and think it was very odd that only made #75 here. If it was released post-Despacito it probably would've been a huge #1 hit like it was in most places in the world. also, I know it's not Spanish, but 'Ai Se Eu Te Pego' which peaked really low here but was #1 all over Europe. |

Spanish, not "Spannish". I guess being somewhat exposed to another culture is very bewildering to some which is not surprising considering they're not even capable of getting the spelling of the language right. Seriously there's no need to take such a moral high ground this thread has become ridiculous |

Erm, can we keep it civil please? If people don't like Spanish/Latin songs, that's fine. There's no deeper agenda or anything. No need to get personal or act so offended. Absolutely. Jumping on this bandwagon after showing no interest before is laughable thanks to one being a big hit. |

In their second album, Little Mix was all 90s R&B. Then, in their third, they were generic europop. In their last album, there was big EDM influence. Like, they are literally always hopping on trends and changing styles because as top 40 acts, that is literally their whole point. Why is there a fuss they are doing it with this current single??
Oh, and by the way, CNCO is a Simon Cowell/SYCO act. So I don't think the remix is for LM to get a hit solely but to introduce CNCO to the UK market. This post has been edited by André: 18th August 2017, 12:51 PM |

Little Mix will be #1 on iTunes shortly.
It's going to be a very exciting chart battle though! Could be the first time in years that we have two songs with spanish in the top ten. |
