Crazy that Blade Runner is #1 (over Thor!! ), it doesn't feel that hyped in any of my friendship circles. I'll probably go and see it but I can't say that I'm particularly excited either ...

Crazy that Blade Runner is #1 (over Thor!! ), it doesn't feel that hyped in any of my friendship circles. I'll probably go and see it but I can't say that I'm particularly excited either ... I could be wrong and I mean no offence but could it be because none of your friends are old enough to remember just how mind-blowingly stunning the original was when it came out? It created a totally original vision of the future and changed Sci-Fi forever, inspiring countless imitators. However, viewing it for the first time 20 or 30 years later robs it of that same impact |

However, viewing it for the first time 20 or 30 years later robs it of that same impact You're probably right and teenagers aren't exactly the main target audience for it and won't be familiar with the original (me included!) but I'd have expected a bit more hype for it. I'm even finding it hard to persuade older family members to come and see it with me. I think the trailers have been rather dull to be honest and only having the director from Arrival (and Ryan Gosling *-*) is making me want to see it at the moment. |
