I rlly loved it <3 and I must admit, I wouldn't have been able to tell that it wasn't a single song, some very nice editing there! Awwwww thanks - this makes me v happy indeed I often make pretend tracks out of work by dance artists because I like to create things that go on a journey of sorts and I think you can really make something greater than the sum of its parts - as novel as I thought it would be to enter something like this, it truly is my favourite and most listened to track of the past month and just entering one of the components wouldn't have had the same personal attachment for me. In fact, I can honestly say I have both laughed and cried to it over the past month - worryingly, both on public transport too! And yes at your comments about Ghosty and Tom returning also, wish they would stay now they're back... This post has been edited by dandyman* 🐝🐝: 31st October 2017, 10:08 PM |

Do many people really use mp3 packs? With all due respect its a fuss for each host to have to make them when it feels like ot many use them and not a lot of people submit an mp3, not to like bridezilla host version but it took me a good while to make mp3 packs and if it's not for many people is it a bit much when there is Spotify and youtube to listen on But then any of you who know me know I stress over nothing so this is just another thing for me to go ott on, it's just interesting to know if many people even use mp3 packs as they feel outdated to me but i guess it's one of the duties you take on as host and I always underestimate them
I can't say mich as I slack on putting an mp3 but it's because I never use them Hi Liam, I clicked on the mp3 link nd it says Dropbox the file doesn't exist, oops hopefully it will work tomorrow (It may be more my end than yours, but mention it in case its not) - thanks for doing one though! I do so love 'em It should work now my PC s hating anything but dropbox for filesharing https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vlkielqo2798hvx/...r0zdHXxD2a?dl=0 |

I use them pretty religiously, still have MP3s from all of the 35 or so contests I've been in! I'm using the Spotify playlist right now and have done so every once in a while but overall MP3s are still most convenient for me. I feel your pain with making the packs though having just had the same struggle a while ago hosting UP, and that was less than half the size of this contest

Always, while it's not normally much of a problem, that it's the only way to listen to them without needing internet really helps, it's so easy to listen to little snippets without needing to wait for them to load as I narrow down my votes, and finally, for someone who doesn't use Spotify it means I have a permanent record of the songs and remember them much easier. I don't have the BJSC 99 pack with me in India but I have all the rest on my iPod and I'm missing it, can barely remember any of those songs, I'll have to pick it up when I get back.
They do take their time to make I know, I've done it several times, but I hope they never go outdated, it's the easiest way to listen and keep the songs around. While I can't really help this month, if ever in the future I have the time/ability I'm going to volunteer if needed to make sure they're still around. |

Btw I made an Apple Music playlist of the first semi if anyone’s on that too: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/playlist/bjsc-c...pl.u-Ng0pCgoPa4
I will make one later for SF2 if anyone is interested but will deffo do one for the finale. It’s missing all the same songs as the Spotify one so see that post for deets x |

It would be very useful I think to at least have an mp3 pack of all the songs that are not on Spotify, if not the entirety of the contest.
Well I'd suggest just having that if most people are using the Spotify playlists... but I don't think that is the case seeing as the Semi One playlist has just one follower (and the Semi Two playlist has four followers). |

I think it would save time and effort for the host if they only supplied mp3 packs on request.

I think it would save time and effort for the host if they only supplied mp3 packs on request. There are people who want to use them every contest though, so that's kind of a request in itself. I agree it takes what feels like too long though :') I did one for Unknown Pleasures. (I don't usually use them anymore myself, although I've been meaning to just download some of my favourite songs from BJSC that I don't own) |

I think it would save time and effort for the host if they only supplied mp3 packs on request. But at least someone's going to ask every month out of 60-70 people. I use them all the time, they're the only way I listen to them right now outside of plug sessions- it's convenient and the best way I have of making time to listen to the entries with them all in once place- adding them all to up next and just listening to them in succession- not flipping between Soundcloud and YouTube, means I can continue doing something else while I listen. I do have 6 months of free apple music with my phone contract so I'm using that a bit (and I appreciate that link!) but I still collect music as well and I like to group BJSC in compilation albums- it'd be tagged messily with streaming (I guess playlists but my pretty album view library would soon get swamped with hundreds of singles), not to mention there are songs that consistently won't be on there. And it's nice to be able to listen offline. I get it's a pain for hosts though so maybe for as long as we're still doing mp3 packs it should be mandatory to include mp3s in submission (or at least strongly encouraged), preferably tagged. Even if they're just YouTube rips it's better each person does their own rather than the host having to do say 30 YouTube rips and tagging them all themselves. |
