In the later episodes with Sideshow Bob, I was somewhat disappointed with the episode where he is a neighbour at the Simpsons. Early episodes, he was brilliant. I haven't really watched that many of the recent series so I can't really comment, a shame they ruined the character a little bit by the sounds of it Sideshow Bob is a brilliant villain, glad to see him so high! Love Edna too (never forget Edna Krapabboly <3), she had an interesting character development over the series, especially compared to the other supporting characters! I guess you could say the same for Skinner too! Didn't realise Fat Tony was no longer in the series He really is brilliant, I just wish he was in it more often but I guess it's hard considering Kelsey Grammer obviously has other projects to keep himself busy too. I had sort of forgot but I have actually seen the episode where Fat Tony is killed off! A bit of a shame really Sideshow Bob is a hilarious and charming villain. I also like Principal Skinner and Maggie. The latter I remember seeing in The Longest Daycare short in the cinema (during the screening of Ice Age 4) before I became a Simpsons fan. I don't think I've seen that short I'll have to seek it out! Maggie is a cutie though Edna, Smithers, Maggie and Skinner are all great! I'd like Groundskeeper Willie and Sideshow Bob more if used more tbh. It's a bit sad that Bob isn't in the show more, I guess it's tough though considering he is voiced by a celebrity unlike most of the other recurring characters. Edna is one of my favorite Simpsons characters. Was so sad when her voice actress died. Sideshow Bob on the other hand is one of my least favs. Always skip episodes featuring him. Had the weirdest cursh on Groundskeeper Willie when I was younger Tbh, I can kind of see why in regards to your final comment! Cape Feare is arguably the best episode ever though Definitely up there for me, yessss at your taste in Simpsons tbh!!! <3 |

12. NELSON MUNTZ The most prominent school bully from Springfield Elementary in the show, Nelson is often seen torturing other students and pointing/laughing at them with his iconic phrase, 'ha ha!'. However, he is shown to have a good heart deep inside, especially around Lisa who he does seem to be fond of. One of my favourite episodes featuring him is "Lisa's Date with Density" in which Lisa tries to change Nelson for the better 13. NED FLANDERS Ned has been the neighbour of The Simpsons family for years and is therefore one of the most prominent characters in the series aside from The Simpsons family themselves. This is another character that I used to find a bit irritating as a child which is why I can't find a place for him in the top 10 BUT I've been appreciating him more than EVER at the moment and he is growing on me with every new episode I watch to the point where he is often the highlight of episodes he appears in. He is a lil bit annoying still but that's the point I guess and he always makes me laugh nowadays so yay. 14. KRUSTY THE CLOWN Krusty is a local celebrity in Springfield as the clown host of The Krusty the Clown show. He puts on a facade for the cameras but is depicted as depressed and washed-up behind the scenes. He's a classic character and one the show would sorely miss if he never existed but I must admit that he doesn't make me laugh as much as some other characters. He definitely has his moments but some of his gags sometimes make me cringe more than chuckle whereas the rest of the characters are pretty good at making their humour land. Fun fact - Krusty was originally intended to be Homer in disguise and it was going to be revealed at the end of Series 1 but the idea was eventually scrapped as they wanted to keep Krusty as a recurring character. |

Ned Flanders is one of those ridiculously nice characters.
Krusty The Clown: Remember that episode where he was presenting Krusty Komedy Klassic on TV and they showed the initials in giant letters on the stage, he reads them and people boo at him and throw tomatoes at him immediately afterwards. |

09. RALPH WIGGUM Ralph is probably the least featured character to be anywhere near this high on my countdown but it is so deserving due to the fact he STEALS any scene he is in. He's used sparingly in the show, usually just popping up with weird one liners or silly gags but EVERYTHING he does or says is absolutely hilarious which makes him one of my absolute favourites. Fun fact: Ralph was originally created as his own character unrelated to Chief Wiggum until the creators decided to make them related due to their similar body types and lack of intelligence. 10. SELMA AND PATTY When I first began compiling this shortlist, I wasn't expecting these two to be in the top ten at all but after watching a few more episodes in preparation for this countdown, I realised just how much I appreciate their dry humour and sarcastic dialogue. They're not the most laugh-out-loud characters in the show but their witty take-downs almost never fail to make me chuckle and they have some of the best storylines too, I was always a fan of the adopted daughter 'Ling' episodes especially. 11. ABRAHAM SIMPSON I feel a little bad leaving Abe out of my top 10 as he is certainly one of my favourite characters but I just can't find a spot for him He's implied to be senile many times and that makes for most of the laughs surrounding his character, often telling impossible stories about things that have happened to him in the past He was also a big highlight of The Simpsons Movie for me |

Krusty The Clown is one of the few characters that I don't properly enjoy when they're on screen. I find him a bit TOO much and not really the intellectual comedy that I go for on the show. I also don't enjoy many of the Krusty-centric episodes.
Likewise Patty and Selma, but I am warming to them over time - Selma is much more relatable and has some quite heart breaking moments throughout. (are you the first ever person to refer to them as Selma and Patty ) Abe and Ralph are CLASSICS though <3 |

omg killing me there with two of my absolute favourites falling out! Glad they are high though! These are my absolute favourites at this stage, anyone of these lot could've been #1 tbh I still haven't even decided yet who is my absolute favourite Simpsons character Ralph and Grandpa are just amazing and hilarious. Krusty The Clown is one of the few characters that I don't properly enjoy when they're on screen. I find him a bit TOO much and not really the intellectual comedy that I go for on the show. I also don't enjoy many of the Krusty-centric episodes. I kind of agree that Krusty often has the most jokes that fall flat in the show alongside Barney. They definitely have their moments but a lot of their humour isn't that intelligent but I do appreciate them both as characters so that's why they're still quite high up.Likewise Patty and Selma, but I am warming to them over time - Selma is much more relatable and has some quite heart breaking moments throughout. (are you the first ever person to refer to them as Selma and Patty ) Abe and Ralph are CLASSICS though <3 I think I might be the first person ever to refer to them that way around, not sure why I did that either as I don't think I ever have It's obviously Patty and then Selma Thanks for the comments guys! |

07. APU NAHASAPEEMAPETILON Apu runs the shop, the Kwik-E-Mart in Springfield and mostly spends most of his time working despite the disapproval of his wife. He's generally polite and his known for his catchphrase, “Thank you! Come again.”. An underrated character in my opinion that doesn't get enough attention by the people I talk to anyway about the show. One of my absolute favourite secondary characters and he makes me laugh a lot. 08. CHIEF WIGGUM Chief Wiggum is probably another character that doesn't deserve to be this high based on screen time as he is usually only in a scene or two at a time but he's such a highlight of the show for me so he had to make the top 10 for me. He's your usual stereotypical dreadful police officer with no idea what the laws in Springfield are but his love for doughnuts and and pig-like looks make him one of the most loveable characters in the show |

Chief Wiggum TOO LOW (nah he's high enough). What an ICONIC character and easily my favourite non-family member. Countless lines I could quote from him.. but a shoutout to "bake him away toys"
Apu is legendary too <3 |

It's amazing how many instantly recognisable and loveable characters this show has :') <3 Chief Wiggum TOO LOW (nah he's high enough). What an ICONIC character and easily my favourite non-family member. Countless lines I could quote from him.. but a shoutout to "bake him away toys" I do love it when he pops up with an amazing one liner! I didn't know whether to put him or Ralph higher Apu is legendary too <3 Thanks for the comments guys! |

05. MONTY BURNS I was really struggling as to WHO I was going to place in the top five alongside the main four family members but in the end, it couldn't have been anyone but Mr Burns. One of the characters that makes me cackle the most, his extremely rude and snobby behaviour towards pretty much everyone and jokes about being ancient and frail never fail to make me laugh. I feel that he's one of the most important characters in the show and is a big reason why I love the show so much. It would sorely miss his presence if he had never been created so here we have it, Burns is my favourite ever non-Simpsons family character!! 06. MOE SZYSLAK Moe is most frequently seen as the bartender at his tavern in Springfield, a favourite drinking spot for Homer and his mates. He's outwardly grumpy and harsh on most people but is shown to be a kind-hearted guy deep down behind the off-putting exterior personality. Often depressed and lonely, he's one of those characters you surprisingly warm to despite being quite unlikeable at times. He's one of the most prominent characters in the show and has always been one of my favourites so he's thoroughly deserving of his place this high up. Absolutely shocking results as Bart vs. Homer vs. Lisa vs. Marge have made the top four!! |

Hyped for top 4! Where did Maggie finish? 15th ! Thanks for commenting 04. BART SIMPSON “Ay Caramba!”, I've deliberated over this all day and I've decided that Bart is ever so slightly my least favourite of the main four. It was a tough decision as he's obviously such a hilarious, brilliant and iconic character but someone has to come 4th, I guess His sense of humour is the most juvenile which does mean occasionally that his jokes feel a bit school-ground and don't always land with me now I'm a bit older. He was probably my favourite character growing up, and despite the fact he still makes me cackle at times, I do feel like I may have outgrown some of his humour a little. Saying that, he appeals to kid inside all of us and is a big part of why the show can be enjoyed by all ages ~ |

His prank calls he made to Moe were legendary and that 'Testing' scene with the microphones.

I'd definitely put Bart 4th behind the others in terms of the "main" Simpsons family (excluding Maggie as she can't talk etc), I agree exactly with what you said!
Lisa to win *.* |

Bart is probs my least favourite of the core four too tbh. I just feel like his sense of humour is a bit more immature than the others.

Mr Burns is so integral to the show, especially being the only real regular villain!
omg Bart is not the worst of the family (disregarding Maggie)! I would put Marge last, expecting her to be next! |
