Almost out of the top 100 is "doing perfectly well"? As always, we'll agree to disagree! I don't know what you expect from a song with no airplay, no video and no promo It could be on for a top 40 debut officially tomorrow, that's above and beyond what I expected in week one. It'll be just fine in the coming weeks, way too early to say "ouch". |

Well a song featuring three pretty relevant artists right now is currently sitting at #97 on iTunes so I think an "ouch" is more than warranted! OUCH!! |

Artists that are not guaranteed smash hits yet because they're all pretty new and without a fanbase! I think in this day and age, we should know better than to judge a song's performance after one week when the vast majority of songs climb to their peak nowadays. What's more is that it's almost top 50 on Spotify in that time, which is a much more important metric nowadays. You do you but let's not get carried away. |

I simply pointed out its position and said "ouch" - which I believe is warranted because I thought it'd be low top 50 at least at the minute. I'm well aware it has every chance to rebound in the coming weeks. |

Like you said, I think we'll have to agree to disagree...
67. Meghan Trainor - No Excuses Intrigued to see where this climbs to tomorrow, New Music Friday has a positive effect even for Thursday releases. A higher debut than NO is unlikely thanks to its shite NMF playlist position on Spotify but hopefully it can climb well here. |

The more I hear it, the more I'm really liking the new MNEK single. Genuinely sounds fresh and different and given it's prominence on the new music playlists on Spotify maybe it could actually become a hit.

I think it should be higher, you don't. Yeah, moving on.
--------------- 55. Make Me Feel - Janelle Monáe I've currently had this on repeat the last few days. I really hope R1 get behind this because it sounds huge and deserves to be huge! |

Please tell me Paloma Faith's "Make Your Own Kind Of Music" is a cover of Mama Cass's 60's classic. It was THE gay anthem until "I Am What I Am" came along 15 years later!

why would you make a flagrant response and then get triggered when someone makes their rebuttal
this is the buzzjack DISCUSSION forum, not the buzzjack "everyone should share my opinion or they're trash" forum - that said, does cigarette even have an impact date? |

I was also a bit disappointed with cigarette's performance on itunes, even if you're not big names and haven't had promo, selling barely 50 copies a day it's a tad disappointment
but yes, we have to put it into perspective, it's 2018 and singles don't peak in week 1 anymore plus raye /mabel/ stefflon are artists that appeal to the new generations so their natural market is spotify not itunes, and there the label is doing a good job having the song added to all playlists and being 50-ish already, that's what matters with artist like raye, her itunes position is irrelevant, it's like post malone, no one cares how he does on itunes, it's not gonna make a difference |
