GotG has one of the weakest and most pointless plots of the stand alones though. It really is quite bad in comparison to Marvel’s usual standard.

GOTG2 is the perfect example of taking what worked with a movie, basing the sequel around it and ending up with a complete and utter mess. It has about half an hours worth of story AT MOST. It's hilarious and visually it's very captivating, but it's essentially a series of brilliant scenes with almost no through line.
Black Panther is a similar story for me (hence the 8), it's visually stunning and the music is ace, plus some of the characters are fantastic but there really isn't enough story for a 2 hour plus movie and there's just not enough character development. |
