He and Laura Brehm have been together on two previous chart hits, 'Monody' (#4) and 'The Calling' (#2) and so for part three, 'MAYDAY', the only way is up to #1. It becomes TheFatRat's second #1 hit following last year's 'Fly Away' (feat. Anjulie), and it follows up 'Oblivion' (feat. Lola Blanc) which charted at a more modest #7. In a more surprising turn of events the entire top two are made up of new entries. It has been a while since Armin van Buuren has made the upper reaches of the chart, and recent single 'Sex, Love & Water' has only made it to #69 (no joke) so far, but 'The Last Dancer' smashes straight in at #2. The song is in collaboration with Shapov, which becomes his first hit. Armin has previously had a #1 hit with 'This Is What It Feels Like', and in the battle for who could get a second #1 first, TheFatRat won out, but Armin could make it in the future. This means last week's #1 from Duke Dumont with 'Inhale' slips down to #3 after just one week spent at the top, becoming the third song this year to spent a single week at #1. Virtual Self slides to #4 with 'Ghost Voices' and Rudimental remain at #5 with 'These Days'. Nora En Pure and CLiQ drop three places to numbers 6 and 7. Andrew Rayel climbs two places to #8 with 'Horizon', leapfrogging Elektronomia & JJD who spend a third non-consecutive week at their #9 peak. Jax Jones finishes the top 10 with 'Breathe'. It is a busy week for new entries in the chart this week, as often happens following a week with not many to balance things out. Oliver Heldens is the third highest new entry with 'King Kong' at #12, becoming his highest charting single in a long while. The song is credited as having been 'touched' by HI-LO, who is... an Oliver Heldens alias. Climbing into the top 20 are Arty with 'Sunrise' at #17, also Andrew Rayel & David Gravell with 'Trance ReBorn (FYH100 Anthem)' at #20. David Guetta and Sia have been together on more occasions than you can count with one hand, and their latest, 'Flames', is new at #32. Their highest single together is, of course, 'Titanium' which spent two weeks at #1. Lucas & Steve get themselves another top 40 hit as after a few weeks of bubbling under the hot 100, 'You Don't Have To Like It' smashes in at #34. It features Janieck who was last in the top 40 alongside Lost Frequencies on 'Reality', a minor hit a few years ago. Phantom Sage gets his second top 40 hit with 'Spirit' (feat. Static Panic), up to #35. Yungen likewise with 'Mind On It' (feat. Jess Glynne), rocketing up to #38. Don Diablo only released his album 'Future' a few weeks ago but has already moved on and released a brand new single. 'Believe' (feat. Ansel Elgort) charts at #39. Finally, The Thrillseekers shoot up the chart to #40 with 'How Will I Know' (Club Mix) (feat. Stine Grove). Armin/Shapov straight in at 2 too such an amazing song and such a return to form for Armin after whatever Love, Sex & Water was should debut in my chart this week too! Nice to see new Don Diablo in the top 40, quite enjoying it but I do kinda want Don to return to his future house bangers soon! Great Chart!
