We've now got all but 2 of the entries (1 from each semi which Bulgaria is definitely coming tomorrow, Georgia apparently not till Wednesday) so now's a good a time as any to start predicting those running orders before the official announcement within the next couple of weeks!
QUOTE Semi Final 1
First Half Albania Eugent Bushpepa - Mall Azerbaijan Aisel - X My Heart Belarus ALEKSEEV - Forever Belgium Sennek - A Matter Of Time Bulgaria Equinox - Bones Czech Republic Mikolas Josef - Lie To Me Estonia Elina Nechayeva - La Forza Iceland Ari Ólafsson - Our Choice Israel Netta Barzilai - Toy Lithuania Ieva Zasimauskaitė - When We're Old Second Half Armenia Sevak Khanagyan - Qami Austria Cesár Sampson - Nobody But You Croatia Franka - Crazy Cyprus Eleni Foureira - Fuego Finland Saara Aalto - Monsters Greece Yianna Terzi - Oneiro Mou Ireland Ryan O'Shaughnessy - Together Macedonia Eye Cue - Lost & Found Switzerland Zibbz - Stones Semi Final 2 First Half Australia Jessica Mauboy - We Got Love Denmark Rasmussen - Higher Ground Moldova DoReDoS - My Lucky Day Norway Alexander Rybak - That's How You Write A Song Romania The Humans - Goodbye Russia Julia Samoylova - I Won't Break San Marino Jessika ft. My first mock up of the year *.*
Semi 1 01. Czech Republic 02. Azerbaijan 03. Lithuania 04. Belarus 05. Estonia 06. Albania 07. Belgium 08. Bulgaria 09. Iceland 10. Israel 11. Greece 12. Austria 13. Switzerland 14. Croatia 15. Armenia 16. Finland 17. Ireland 18. Macedonia 19. Cyprus Czechia seem an obvious choice of opener, with Azerbaijan getting the 2nd spot due to their unbroken qualification record. Iceland will appear to be thrown a bone to help their chances but in reality they're doomed. Same with Ireland. Cyprus seems more of a show closer but that spot could also go to Finland. Semi 2 01. Australia 02. Romania 03. Moldova 04. Russia 05. The Netherlands 06. Serbia 07. Denmark 08. San Marino 09. Norway 10. Hungary 11. Malta 12. Ukraine 13. Latvia 14. Georgia 15. Sweden 16. Montenegro 17. Slovenia 18. Poland Australia seem a good choice to pull in viewers with the opener. Norway I assume will be given the best slot possible because of the name behind it, hopefully he's dead on arrival though. Sweden should get a great spot and Poland closing seems quite likely to me. |

Hmmm, I would maybe say:
Semi Final 1 01. Israel Netta Barzilai - Toy 02. Iceland Ari Ólafsson - Our Choice 03. Belarus ALEKSEEV - Forever 04. Lithuania Ieva Zasimauskaitė - When We're Old 05. Albania Eugent Bushpepa - Mall 06. Azerbaijan Aisel - X My Heart 07. Bulgaria Equinox - Bones 08. Belgium Sennek - A Matter Of Time 09. Estonia Elina Nechayeva - La Forza 10. Czech Republic Mikolas Josef - Lie To Me ----------------------------------------------------- 11. Switzerland Zibbz - Stones 12. Ireland Ryan O'Shaughnessy - Together 13. Greece Yianna Terzi - Oneiro Mou 14. Armenia Sevak Khanagyan - Qami 15. Cyprus Eleni Foureira - Fuego 16. Austria Cesár Sampson - Nobody But You 17. Macedonia Eye Cue - Lost & Found 18. Croatia Franka - Crazy 19. Finland Saara Aalto - Monsters I would have opened with Lie To Me, but I think Toy could have a massive impact. Monsters and Fuego could go either way. I definitely think Crazy will be used to lead onto whatever song is going to close the show Semi Final 2 01. Norway Alexander Rybak - That's How You Write A Song 02. San Marino Jessika ft. Jenifer Brening - Who We Are 03. The Netherlands Waylon - Outlaw In 'Em 04. Moldova DoReDoS - My Lucky Day 05. Denmark Rasmussen - Higher Ground 06. Serbia Sanja Ilić & Balkanika - Nova deca 07. Romania The Humans - Goodbye 08. Australia Jessica Mauboy - We Got Love 09. Russia Julia Samoylova - I Won't Break ------------------------------------------------------- 10. Georgia Iriao - Sheni gulistvis 11. Sweden Benjamin Ingrosso - Dance You Off 12. Hungary AWS - Viszlát nyár 13. Malta Christabelle - Taboo 14. Slovenia Lea Sirk - Hvala, ne! 15. Montenegro Vanja Radovanović - Inje 16. Poland Gromee ft. Lukas Meijer - Light Me Up 17. Latvia Laura Rizzotto - Funny Girl 18. Ukraine Mélovin - Under The Ladder Norway to open on name alone. This is a difficult semi to put into an order because a lot of the songs are pretty meh |

Not a prediction so much as a proposal from me, tried to go a little bit more "out there" than I usually do.
SEMI ONE 01 Estonia 02 Iceland 03 Azerbaijan 04 Belgium 05 Czech Republic 06 Lithuania BREAK 07 Belarus 08 Albania 09 Israel 10 Bulgaria 11 Switzerland 12 Greece 13 Ireland 14 Macedonia BREAK 15 Armenia 16 Croatia 17 Cyprus 18 Austria 19 Finland - I actually think that, as a spectacle and a way to make a big first impression and to kick off Eurovision 2018 in style, Estonia would work really well (and it's not like its chances massively change as a result of going first anyway) - Israel and Bulgaia as the two "A Listers" in the first half get put as late as possible - Finland makes the most sense to close the show as it's got enough of an epic climax and at least some kind of impressive staging. Cyprus's party song goes in its natural spot at two from the end and Austria fits between them as something good but of a different style/tempo - Macedonia get given as big a helping hand they can get by going on before an ad break |

It's crazy how few potential closers there are in semi 1 and openers in semi 2.

So now we know all of the songs in Semi 2, I'd run them like this:
01 Denmark 02 San Marino 03 Romania 04 Moldova 05 Russia 06 Norway BREAK 07 Netherlands 08 Serbia 09 Australia 10 Georgia 11 Hungary 12 Montenegro 13 Poland 14 Slovenia BREAK 15 Sweden 16 Malta 17 Latvia 18 Ukraine - Similar to Estonia opening Semi 1, Denmark feels like a good 'epic' way of opening semi 2 - As a previous winner you kinda have to give Norway a not terrible draw but give Australia the pimp slot in the first half as the true A-Listers - Sweden has to go after a break to give them a few more minutes to wheel their big ass lighting rig on stage (plus Christer will want to save giving Sweden a REALLY good draw until the final -Ukraine still makes a good, uptempo and show stopping closer. |

Something like this might be nice and somewhat realistic:
Semi Final 1 01 Azerbaijan Aisel - X My Heart 02 Iceland Ari Ólafsson - Our Choice 03 Belarus ALEKSEEV - Forever 04 Bulgaria Equinox - Bones 05 Israel Netta Barzilai - Toy 06 Lithuania Ieva Zasimauskaitė - When We're Old 07 Albania Eugent Bushpepa - Mall 08 Belgium Sennek - A Matter Of Time 09 Czech Republic Mikolas Josef - Lie To Me 10 Estonia Elina Nechayeva - La Forza 11 Austria Cesár Sampson - Nobody But You 12 Switzerland Zibbz - Stones 13 Armenia Sevak Khanagyan - Qami 14 Finland Saara Aalto - Monsters 15 Greece Yianna Terzi - Oneiro Mou 16 Ireland Ryan O'Shaughnessy - Together 17 Macedonia Eye Cue - Lost & Found 18 Croatia Franka - Crazy 19 Cyprus Eleni Foureira - Fuego Semi Final 2 01 Norway Alexander Rybak - That's How You Write A Song 02 Romania The Humans - Goodbye 03 Russia Julia Samoylova - I Won't Break 04 Moldova DoReDoS - My Lucky Day 05 San Marino Jessika ft. Jenifer Brening - Who We Are 06 The Netherlands Waylon - Outlaw In 'Em 07 Serbia Sanja Ilić & Balkanika - Nova deca 08 Denmark Rasmussen - Higher Ground 09 Australia Jessica Mauboy - We Got Love 10 Montenegro Vanja Radovanović - Inje 11 Ukraine Mélovin - Under The Ladder 12 Latvia Laura Rizzotto - Funny Girl 13 Georgia Iriao - Sheni gulistvis 14 Malta Christabelle - Taboo 15 Hungary AWS - Viszlát nyár 16 Sweden Benjamin Ingrosso - Dance You Off 17 Slovenia Lea Sirk - Hvala, ne! 18 Poland Gromee ft. Lukas Meijer - Light Me Up |

I think Lithuania and Azerbaijan's ( ) chances of Qualifying are gone. Belgium could be borderline just because it will get lost in Czech Republic and Israel. I also feel that Bulgaria (if they don't pull it off live) to Greece section could go either way for them all because they are not pure pop bangers.
SF2 is awful. Literally, don't need to watch until Australia who are 9th. |

I don't think performing first is necessarily bad by any means, I doubt it will affect Azerbaijan either way.
If I were to call a shock, I don't think Ireland could've asked for anything more...maybe the semi is just too strong but I think it'll stand out and wouldn't be surprised if it just sneaks in. If Serbia don't qualify from being surrounded by such utter shite then I despair! San Marino >>> |

Some theorising:
I think the add breaks are planned for after songs 5 and 14 in both semis (Sweden and Finland being on after breaks and they're the two most likely to have big staging setups). So the most shafted is probably Lithuania being on after the break when some people won't get back and invested straight away AND being on before Israel which'll memory hole it instantly so I reckon that they'll probably get whatever Lithuania's "core" vote is and not a great deal more. I think Montenegro might actually have some kind of fighting chance out of all the ex-Yugos with that late on running order position plus there's a decent level of friendly votes in that semi. That might well be the token "shock" qualifier of the year. Azerbaijan...hmm. I think in a 19 song semi going first is a bit harder than it would be in a 16/17 song semi. I don't think it majorly changes their chances either way so they could go either way with that one. Lithuania being negged slightly probably helps them out though. I still can't see Ireland making it, looks like one of the "low" moments of the show that Christer likes to do before setting up a big moment performance like Cyprus (and both semis look like they've got two songs with relatively low chances before the show closer, I don't think that's a coincidence). |

Not that it really makes much of a difference but now I’m really quite sure that we’re coming last.

Stick us on 2nd after a spectacular opener from Czechia or Cyprus and be done with it.
