Following on from the link Mack posted in the League One thread:

Do you think referees get enough respect? Is there anything that can be done to make referees more respected? Do you have a favourite/least favourite referee? Feel free to discuss.

The problem with referees is they are never held accountable. Also when they make good judgement calls they are never called out, it is only the bad or controversial calls.

The issue for me with referees is consistency, the best referee in England right now is Mark Oliver. People are always going to have their own opinions and until incidents are shown on the screen again for fans inside the ground to see why the decision was made, I think there will always be issues like this one.

Like Rooney said, referees will always get picked up on the bad and controversial calls.

However there is no place in any sport, for someone to attack the referee.
