One of Kiss' most underrated songs, and definitely my favourite of there's:

This was apparently the other A side to 'So Macho', 'Cruising' is far superior imo and much less cheesy sounding. Should definitely have been the main one promoted and not So Macho from that double A side imo.

Also in the Hi-NRG genre, this great tune, made #29 in 1986, but should have done better in the charts!

Messages is brilliant! music.gif

Here's an amazing indie tune I voted for in the Now That's What Buzzjack Calls Music 1-10.

This may have been their biggest hit, but Kajagoogoo as a whole seem to have been forgotten now.

Fairly typical brit funk of the time, similar to Imagination. By the time they had a come back the scene had changed a lot. Loved Too Shy on totp on bbc4, got to no1!

Also a bit like Spandau's Chant no 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On) in style.

'Too Shy' is defined as new wave by wikipedia but quite a few early 80s new wave songs do seem to have funk influences.

Almost everything OMD have ever recorded is brilliant wub.gif

Furniture also recorded some wonderful songs but never got the success they deserved.

I recently discovered this fab #23 hit from 1982. Great dancey electronic bop which sounds amazing for its time.

'Today' (#14, 1982), another high energy tune from them is also very good.

The genre basically covers everything post the Sex Pistols - think totp said that Boomtown Rats first single in 1977 was he first ever New Wave single playlisted by radio 1?!

This was the Christmas no1 song in 1983, a cover of the YAzoo classic - I absolutely love it. Possibly one of the best songs of the decade (both versions)!
