Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa remain at number two with 'One Kiss', in now the song's ninth consecutive week in the top five. Of course, it if weren't unfortunate enough to have been released just two weeks before Avicii's death it would have spent five consecutive weeks at #1, and with the four weeks it did get it is still the year's longest running #1 so far. Dimension spends a third non-consecutive week at number three with most recent BJSC entry 'Black Church'. Now here's where it gets interesting, at number four there is a brand new entry for Paul Simon who gets his first hit single with 'Homeless' (Joris Voorn Remix). It is also the first top 40 hit for remixer Joris Voorn, and his first hit at all since January 2014 when 'Ringo' appeared at #46 for him, so a rather surprising instant hit here considering. The song is taken from a remixed version of Simon's 80s album 'Graceland' which also features an MK & KC Lights remix of the title track, which itself enters at a much lower position of #65. 'Homeless' pushes former #1 'I'll Be There' by Jess Glynne down to number five. No other songs enter the top ten with the sole dropout coming from Avicii whose 'Levels' slips a place to #11. It took its time for enter the chart, but in its second week charting 'Panic Room' has shot straight up to #16 for Au/Ra and CamelPhat. It is the first hit single for the former, and the sixth top 40 hit for the latter, whose previous hit 'Cola' spent six consecutive weeks at its peak position of number five, becoming their biggest hit to date. Their other top 20 hits include 'Paradigm' (#9, 2015) and 'Paths' (#18, 2016). Since entering the chart with 'Horizon' earlier this year, which itself is at #12 this week, Andrew Rayel has since went on to claim two more top 20 hits. The second of these, 'In The Dark', enters today at #18 to follow-up 'Trance ReBorn' (#20). It is in collaboration with singer HALIENE who gets her fourth top 40 (and top 20) hit, following up her #4 hit with Standerwick titled 'Deep End' from earlier this year. John Gibbons may have struggled with previous single 'My Reflection', which failed to reach the top 40 (and the top 50), but his new song instantly gives him a sixth top 40 hit. 'Sweat (A La La La La Long)' is another cover version from him, which he seems to be good at. It enters at #32 this week. His most recent top 40 appearance before now was a remix of Anne-Marie's 'Heavy', which only managed to peak at #24, though his other four chart hits all reached the top ten. Those being 'Your Love' (#7, 2015), 'Would I Lie To You' (#3, 2016), 'P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)' (#4, 2017) and 'Sunglasses in the Rain' (#6, 2017). All eyes are now on him to see if he can make it a fifth top ten to continue his streak of all his singles as a lead artist either making it or missing the top 40 entirely. Kanye West has had a long history in this chart, which would be about twice as big if the chart extended to before 2010, but he went through all of last year without any hit single, and all of this year... until now. 'All Mine', which features Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign, gives Kanye his 15th top 40 hit single as it enters at #33. His most recent hit was 'Fade' which peaked at #20, and his highest peaking to date is as a feature on Rihanna's 'FourFiveSeconds' (#3, 2015), or as a lead artist, 'Clique' (#4, 2012). Outside the top 40 are new entries for Bakermat, The 1975, Paul Simon (remix by MK & KC Lights), Florence + The Machine, J Hus, Krystal Klear, Charlie Puth feat. Kehlani (remix by James Hype) and Roger Martin feat. Maurice. Yep really impressive. The Groove Armada remix of another track of his came up on my radar but didn't do much for me, glad I skimmed the other tracks to find this one anyway. Andrew Rayel is fast becoming one of my fave trance producers, he's got a lot of bangers!! I think it has a very good chance of going top 40 now, great to see. thanks Jeff! Disclosure have now had not 1, not 2, but 3 weeks at the top and I was none the wiser I quite like it but I wouldn't rave about it. Though songs generally tend to have to grow on me before I'm that fussed on them! "Levels" hanging around just outside the top 10 even after all of these years. Great track, as always! I'm looking forward to whatever new Avicii we do get. Interesting to see John Gibbons newie inside your top 40. It really needs to grow on me; I just don't think it sounds right. I love the original so was really looking forward to hearing it revamped. As always a nice interesting chart to look at! Stands out

Christine stalling tho, I hope that can climb in future weeks, although #15 is a pretty good place to be at anyway. Elsewhere, I am loving the inclusion of The 1975 as a new entry this week! Stands out well I was really excited for a Disclosure comeback as they are one of my fave artists, my third most played behind Avicii and Calvin Harris (though they are well behind those two), and this one didn't disappoint. 'Levels' just never gets old for me, it's my most played song of all time by some way and I can't see anything ever beating it. I'm not familiar with the original version but this John Gibbons version sounds great to my ears at least. thanks Midge. Not sure if Christine can climb any further but she should remain in my top 40 for a few more weeks at least. The 1975 may be climbing, it's a rather good comeback from them. thanks Jade.
